Rear shock

There is so much info out there about the performance of Ohlin and such rear shocks. My 07 1050 Tiger has a rear shock with all sorts of adjustment. Is it the equal of the aftermarket stuff? Do I need to kit it or something. Bike has 30Kmiles on it. Feels good to me but so did a lot of off-road stuff till it let you down in a critical moment of need. All advice welcome
