My tank on the right side has 2  naked hose fittings. Nothing was on them when I bought the bike  and I cannot find any reference to them in the Haynes book.  Actually no reference at all to the 955 I 2001

Hi,
Old post but, I think your looking at the filler cap overflow it usually has a rubber pipe running down to underneath the engine to stop any fuel ending up on the engine itself. I would make sure its clear before you fit a new pipe as if it gets blocked (as mine did) when it rains or you wash the bike the next time you open the filler cap you will end up with water in your tank.
