Well it shouldn't!  If the manufacturers spent enough time, miles and money on pre-production testing, the product should be sound. There is NO excuse for allowing a new model into production and letting the new customers do the testing. Look at the damage the "cam chain" issues did to Hondas' reputation in the '80's.

If you're too young.....Honda had to re-engineer the cam drive in the VF750. They put (expensive) gear drive in and called the model a VFR750.
