I decided to LED the Kitty..... 2006 Tiger

Remember: Bulb must be same color as lens.
New Instrument lights and CLOCK light: Far Out! Big improvement.
I chose GREEN for instruments and WHITE for clock.
SPEEDO - Fuel Gauge - Temp: LED Bulb: WLEDGHP5 Green.
Clock: LED Mini / Wedge /Bulb: 74-WWHP3 Warm White
TACH: LED Mini / Wedge / bulb: 74-GHP3 Green
PS: On wedge or double contact bulbs... if they do not light... remove them and turn them 180° then reinsert... they should work.
Tail / Stop Lights: Much brighter and FILLS entire lens! White bottom & side LEDs shine on license plate. LED Bulb: 1157-R-19W6 Red.
Turn Signals: VERY BRIGHT ( At least the ONE of FOUR that is working ).
(I replaced the flasher unit also). For some reason 3 of 4 sockets will not flash. Old bulbs work fine. New LEDs work fine in the one operating socket. LED guy says often wiring is reversed on different sockets... so I swiched leads... zippo ... any help would be appreciated. I'll get it worked out.

Having gone through similar exercises with different bikes in the past, I recall there being an issue with the blinker circuitry usually being designed for the electrical load required by incandescents. As the LEDs reduce electrical load significantly, the system will either blink too fast or not at all. You will either have to simulate the normal electrical load ("equalize the load") in the circuit by adding resistors, or get a special flasher unit designed for the reduced load.
When you say, "I replaced the flasher unit", you mean to say the turn signal relay?

I would ride more at night if I had better lighting. I will be curious to see how things are working for you in about 6 months. I think it was on the Triumphrat.net forums that several guys had done this before but the LEDs kept burning out. Did you read any of that first?
It has been a couple of years since I rad those threads, maybe things have improved since then? Good luck, keep us posted!

The LEDs have improved quite a bit in the past few years.
They've improved the circuitry and vastly improved the light spectrum.

The new flasher was put in immediately... It isn't the flasher.
the problem with the 3 sockets not flashing is a resistance,
wiring, or polarity issue.
It was working before with incandescents (right?), so it's not the wiring. Polarity is easy - just reverse the poles and it should work - you've already done that. It must be resistance then, possibly corrected with a load equalizer (i.e., a resistor) to place the electrical load within spec.
What happens if you replace the two front with LEDs, and leave the old bulbs in rear, or vice versa? Or when you have just one LED and the others incandescent, does it blink very quickly? And, of course, you've confirmed that all the LEDs work?
Looking at my wiring diagram, the turn signal bulbs have two poles - one for ground, one live. I think that's an 1156 bulb (12V 10W per spec on my service manual). Looks like you've got the right kind.

The guys at Superbright LED says it is NOT uncommon for turn signals
to be a major issue, doing exactly what is happening.
You are right, everything points to dropping in a load resistor ( I think those are like 10 ohms for LEDs ).
I'd bet that's the key. I'll hit 'the shack' tomorrow.

When you start looking you can get confused pretty quickly.
For instance I selected a few bulbs that were wrong. Their customer sevice
guy explained about fwd shooting LEDs, SIDE SHOOTING LEDs, and different LED beam angles.
The end result: Full coverage behind the instrument and within the lenses.

I have been running Sylvania Silverstars for about 2 years...
they throw a nice WHITE light. In fact... the pavement looks like
it's a bright sunny day....
The beams throw 'ditch-to-ditch' ... and more.
But there seems to be a weak spot in the middle.... you can't quite get
that covered. A buddy (Tiger rider ) is going to get an aux LED light to
fill that void. For me it's not an issue.
I will say this... adjusting lights on a Tiger is a BITCH! I am thinking of drilling a couple of access holes in the fairing so I don't have to remove it just to tweak the lights.
BTW: The Silverstars are so good.... I removed my aux lights.
If I wanted to go with all the LED's except the turnsignals, would that be possible and get rid of the flasher issue?
Brad.. you can replace whichever lights you want...
it's just that if you do turnsignals... you need to do the flasher unit.
BTW... for instrument bulbs you can select from several colors ....

Would you mind posting up the part #'s for all of the bulbs you purchased? Also, where did you get the flasher unit? And are the signals working OK now?

Trax, realise you're busy but if it's not polarity then it has to be the flasher unit. (since it appears OK with the old bulbs in it)
You should have been recommended an electronic flasher unit, these don't depend on a load (or resistor) to operate correctly.
I do have a flasher unit for LED lights...
and the FOUR LED signal bulbs works perfectly... on one socket.
On the other 3 sockets they do not work.
Using the OEM bulbs.... all four sockets work perfect!
I finally figured out what I did wrong to get the LED turn signals to work.
Insert the LED flasher.
When you change the bulbs do one bulb at a time - one side at a time.
If a bulb does not flash... reverse the wires at the socket.
Tada.... you are done.
Before I was randomly changing the polarity ... not sticking to one side at a time. I refer to those types of people as BDN... Big Dumb Nuts....

PS: Green is nice. I am changing to WARM WHITE.
YES.... turn signals much brighter.
Now going to change out the 'turn signal' indicator bulb on the dash...

Thanks TigerTrax, I did the conversion and am very happy. The design of the instrument lightbulb placement does not allow for an evenly distrubited light behind the instruments and is noticible at twilight but is still far better than stock.
I did not do the flasher yet.

Neat thing about these LED lights, you can select the angle at which you
want the light to broacast. I think one of them is 120° ... and that covers most of the gauge.... but when the light is way off center... you get a weak spot. But you are right BIG difference!

Got mine from Ebay UK, quite a few UK based shops on there for the bulbs
I was just worried about the quality. There is some cheap nasty looking tat out there.
TT - You forgot to mention how much of a PITA it is to get to the bulbs for the Tach, etc.!!! I got my Tiger back from the shop yesterday and today after work started putting the lights in. Of course, Murphy's Law kicked in and it ended up getting dark and I had to button back up with a head-mounted light and hope I didn't drop anything on the asphalt.
I also realized that somehow (fat fingers maybe) I ordered THREE tail lights and only ONE bulb for the Speedo/Fuel/Temp gauges. So it's all buttoned up for tomorrows commute and I just ordered the new bulbs and got the other packed up for return.
How exactly did you get the tach bulb out?? Did you just keep taking things apart until you could get to it? Is there a trick to make it easy?
BTW, I installed the speedo, turn signals, clock, and indicators for fuel, turn, and neutral (the ones I need to see the most). I love it. The speedo, it so bright. It's awesome. I can't wait to get the tach, fuel, and temp to match.

The instrument lights are SO nice...can actually even read my stock clock! Thanks for posting part numbers TT! Deciphering the maze of 10000 different bulbs on the website made my head spin.
I didn't bother with indicator bulbs as these are only momentary on and really don't effect draw on battery. Stuck with the ones that are on all the time.
I went with LED's myself but used different colors and it took a bit of experimentation....tried all red first and that did not work well...ended up using red for the temp, fuel and clock, green for the speedo, white for the tach (also green LED's for the neutral and turn dash bulbs)

194 wedge Can Bus is all I can find. The site says do not use can bus in non can bus aplications

I decided to take the plunge as well. Took a little over an hour, you need to remove the headlight bracket and unbolt the tach to get access to the bulb which adds time. Otherwise pretty quick and easy mod. All cool white.

I had purchased some LED bulbs from Ebay a while back, they worked good but didn't last. Cheap Chinese Crap.
I decided to buy the bulbs from SuperBrightLED's based on everyone here who has had good luck with them. They were shipped very quickly and I got them installed yesterday. Nice results, I went with white for all the gauges and green for the clock.
Now, to see how long they last.
