hello there,
I want to show you my tiger project.
http://www.motor-forum.nl/forum/list_me ... ger-1.html (http://www.motor-forum.nl/forum/list_messages/196610/0/verbouwing-triumph-tiger-1.html)
Do you know people who did something like this?
Greetings speedrider
Wow! LOOKS awesome!
:bowdown :bowdown :bowdown
:wav :wav :wav
Please send more pics.
tett
please check my other topic for more pics 8)
here a pic from last year, making some adjustments now
Amazing what you can do with a Tigger
Brilliant. I have three questions?
How does it ride now? Look's like a big supermoto.
I like your wheels, what rims are you running?
Lastly, in the first picture what is the yellow sphere thing?
Fantastic 8) where's that Dorsoduro GGGrrrrrr
thats bad ass
Mmm yes I like that, a lot.. especially from the viewpoint in the 2nd shot... 8)
The weather is bad here in holland
But made some pics
Thats ravin MAD !! but in a good way i think :?
:headbang :thumbsup
KK
mad max bike
Brilliant 8) If I was on a Dorsodura and caught that in my mirrors I might well be rather concerned
I think most folks would spend 5 minutes just trying to work out what it was; those that know would spend 5 minutes not believing their eyes!!!
I think it's brilliant, 8) and just goes to show that with imagination you can do just about owt... :D
Oh, and Speedrider, I worked with Dutch engineers when I was posted to RAF Bruggen just over the border from Rhoermond.
How much beer was involved in deciding to do this????
Looks different alright,i too went the wire wheel route.
Got fed up with inner tube thing and went Dymag
(http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h185/wing2541/frontwheel.jpg)
cool
nice brakes 8)

I NEED!!!!!!!!
Not sure what the wife would say though :?
Chris Canning, i am interrested in some pictures of your bike.
Do you have a topic?
gr
Well i started off with an 885 well two actually, then bought a 955 in 2001,i come from an offroading background, which the Tiger has never struck me as being!,i had a Dutch friend send me a photo of a Tiger that was Supermotoed in Germany and it went on from there.
First wire wheels and then Dymags,in that trim it has been ridden everywhere from Lisbon to eastern Europe, including 1000 mile days.
http://tigertriple.com/forum/index.php/topic,614 (http://tigertriple.com/forum/index.php/topic,614)
This the photo i normally post.
The biggest hassle was the speedo conversion, thank heavens for the internet, rear shock is Ohlins, airbox conversion,19t sprocket,K+N,Ohlins front springs 15wt oil, thats about i guess.
Referring to picture DSCF8413.jpg in your third post, who said anything about insectoide looks...
Great work, it´s really stunning.:bowdown
Dag
Chris, what size tire did you have on your original rim back then?
Do you remember?
is it a 180?
I like your hugger :notworthy
Yes it's a 180 as i had a 5 and a 1/2" rim laced on the back,i cringe a little looking at the photo, tyres have moved on a lot since then with the advent of dual compound,i use Michelin Road 02's now.
I didn't want to use the original wheels and bought a secondhand rear and chopped the spokes and rim off, and aquired!! a front hub,as i didn't want to risk buying a front hub from a damaged bike, but folks who make the wheels for BMW have a patenet on their turbless spoke rims,in end got fed up with hassle of tubes and bough Dymags and of course were a lot lighter.
May i say, with the 17" front wheel on,it's the only bike i've owned, that will change line and direction mid corner, and that includes my XT supermoto
Hugger is just bog stock NWS.
Speedrider
Are your forks stock?? or is it an opitical illusion in black.
Those are the original forks, only customized
on the pic: 1 custom, 1 original
later on i removed the 'collar' on a 'turning lathe'
(dont know the words for it???)
All the peaces powdercoated
I'm one of those misguided individuals who take my Tigger off the bitumen, but Speedrider and Chris, those bikes are sensational! Well done!
I ordered a carbon hugger :XXcomputer
Hope to get it soon :party
I will remove that rubber mud 'thing' (don't know whats the name)
and paint the spring yellow

"Cat Flap" as in the small door some people put at the bottom of house doors. Are you sure about the yellow, fire engine red might look better against the matt black, just a thought as I'm sure it will look cool whatever you do 8) .
:new_popcornsmiley
I wanted to lower my food steps because i'm tall and my knies were to high at the tank.
I have stolen some ideas. The touratech version also place the step forward, i do'nt want that.
I ''copied'' the 2nd version from these below
This is the result.
The step lowered about 2,5 cm (1 in)
The ones in the second pictured were milled from a block of aluminum. But for a welding project, yours look great!
How much do you have invested in them? (time/money)
None 8) did it @ my work...
I had them for a year, but lowered them today.
So with a little bit double work i think it costs me 8 hours.
Very nice!
I think I'm due for a set of Mustang pegs myself.
very nice job Speedrider !
this reminds me a Tiger I spotted in ADV forum and here is my "photoshoped" version....
:-)

I think that would just about work... my wife says you should get out more

Love the pictures in the Girly section, especially the underseat exhaust
There must be every photo i've ever seen on trick Tigers in that collection many 10 years old, including the SBF Tiger from Germany that set me off on my journey.
Too cool...

I have to admit that we have a very good source of phantasies in France, thanks to Frank Depoissier owner of Mecatwin...
http://www.mecatwin.com
... the company who created the X90
(http://chevaliernoir.chez.com/moto/photos/mecatwin/X90_2-grand.jpg)
this one was the first Tiger I saw with the SM treatment (from Mecatwin)

here is another one, less charming (obviously NOT from Mecatwin)

wow, a couple of nice rebuilds :grnb
i have got my hugger :)
i have made some photoshops
What are your opinions?
the rim tape and colored shock look out of place with the starkness of the big flat black gas tank and body work
.....................on the other hand though they would compliment some nice matching color graphics on the tank........ say something like the 1st generation tiger logo on the tank in red would look great with the rim tape and shock spring .
+1
red shock is enough IMO...

What i do find interesting looking at all these different Tigers, they've all got 17" wheels on :D
Quote from: "Chris Canning"What i do find interesting looking at all these different Tigers, they've all got 17" wheels on :D
Yeah, daft isn't it

well that's the nature of this topic...
but there's a couple of Tigers (steamers essentially...) with 21" wheels on ADV and one nice in north europe... can't remember, a green one with nice pics in the snow...
my dream is to build a Speed Tiger... the Speed Triple spirit on a Tiger (Girly) frame...

Thanks 8)
I have got a update.... my back wheel is underway to be broaden.
A 5,5J outher rim will be placed, with a 180 back tyre.
So when it's done you will see the pics :D
small update :D
i think i'm gonna try my rims too with a red line
Got my wheel back today 8)
I had the same done in 2002 but it became a hassle carrying a spare inner tube because you haven't a hope of buying one over the counter apart from a tyre outlet because of the size, and hence why I went to a mag wheel.

Hello there,
Summer is coming in holland, so the feeling is coming back :)
I am busy with some mainenance and bought a new K&N airfilter...
Here a pic with my home made fork protectors
no thats freakin cool!!!!!!! 8)
fantastic , takes me back to the days when i used to rip off the fairings on my Gixers and painting everything matt black :D
I want to do this to my Tiger so friggen bad.... but mine's not been in an accident... so I can't justify it.
Maybe I can find a salvage one... hmmm...
