Crashed bike lightly onto right side, no significant damage other than cracked gas tank. I mounted the new tank and now the bike isn't charging.
Last fall I installed a new battery, Rick's Electric stator, regulator, performed voltage fix; had 14+ volts while running, now 11.6 volts...

Any ideas?

Did you check the main fuse?  It's a 30A unit.

Yep!

Seems eiher the fall or the tank swap has dislodged something. First place to check is the stator connections (3 yellows) for AC volts, 30+ I think from off the top of my head at 4000 rpm, this will show if the generator is working. Then check and ensure good are all connectors from regulator to and including battery and frame earth, even connectors that look good sometimes are not good electrically.

I may as well do it, as I'm gonna get blamed for it anyway.

+!

I fixed a low volts issue on mine by taking apart and cleaning a cruddy alternator plug and socket (the three yellow wires one tied to the fuel rail).

The entire charging system is less than 4 months old...

and your point is ?

some unfortunate souls have gone thru charging system components in less time

it's the girlies achilles heel
some bikes have it some dont

Aw crap mustang, that ain't good to hear! Will a spare rectifier, VR, stator all fit in one side case??

AK Tiger

Yup, on my third set ... so far.  I'm just a bit over 50K on this Tiger.  On the other hand, my 2002 spent its whole life  ('bout 28K miles) on the original charging system.  Go figure.    :?
