I'm about to get one of these engine guards and I'm just wondering if anyone has compared the two and whether it is worth the extra $70 or so for the Touratech.

I'd love to get the Touratech skidplate also, but $360 is downright ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't even work with the stock centerstand.

Cant comment on the Hepco Becker, but the Touratechs work, period,2 or 3 of us on this forum can vouch for their effectiveness.

Hepco-Becker works.
I have both dropped the bike standing still and slid it down a slippery track.
No damage to either the engine or tank.
Just some slight light scuff on the engine cover and bent shift lever.

Can't say how much force it will resist but so far I'm happy.
