Very sad news.  A great journo, any idea what happened?

Never mind, it's all over the Telegraph website.

Bad news, i enjoyed reading his articles.

Hell be sadly missed. More common sense than most and had the balls to speak out in a professional group more inclined to sensationalism.  Respect and sadness for the biking world a well as his family.
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

Agreed Sin. He was the voice of common sense and reason in amongst the tabloid-like hysteria. More than once he warned his own employers against over doing it in his MCN column. And who can replace his Techwatch articles?  Those that care more about bikes than them being just a shiney fast thing in the garage will miss him more than we yet realise.

Did he not start a touring company in France? I seem to remember getting a brochure for that when he went free lance.

I spoke to him once about Tigers, he was doing a piece and asked for owners comments, I e mialed him mine and left a phone number, I was very surprised when he rang for a chat.

Great Shame

That is dreadful news.
Is it really an adventure bike if its wheels never see dirt?
