I am in process of planning a 2 week narrow boating trip on the Warwickshire Ring in JUly. I was hoping to take a day and go for a ride in the Old Country ( born in British Military Hospital Aldershot - left in 1954 ) but was shocked at the rental prices. Any suggestions for where an experienced and mature Tiger rider could find  a Tigger for a day?

cheers

If it's just for a day it's pricey, mostly due to insurance I believe.  It might be worth trying one of the bigger dealers rather than a specialist rental company.  They do test rides every day and may be more sympathetic. Jack Lilley are probably going to be more sympathetic than most send might be susceptible to an offer of a donation.  Mange she you have as much paperwork as possible for their insurance, perhaps a copy of your own showing no claims bonus or record of clean riding for years.
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

You know, if you could prove to me that you've got proper full insurance in place, you could borrow my Tiger955. I'm located next to Hastings so it would be a couple of hours each way from Aldershot but I suspect you could do a round trip taking in everything you want to. Railway station 5 minutes from me. Double bed in the spare room.
