Hi John

Something different!  If you have ever wondered what those nutters are doing on sidecars, then this is a chance for you to come along and have a go!  Or watch those who are!

We have booked Llandow Circuit, Cowbridge, South Wales, CF71 7PB, for a solo and sidecar test and track day on Tuesday 15th April.  The plan is to have alternate solo and sidecar sessions, so there will be plenty of track time for everyone.  The solo session will have novices, and any faster riders have been briefed to this effect.  The circuit is quite wide, and in the past we haven't had a problem with differing speeds of participants.

To take part with a solo is just £70 for a day, and you can have a go as a passenger on a sidecar as well if you want!  This day is particularly suitable if you have never done a track day before.  You do need leathers, etc, but some spare leathers, boots and gloves will be available to borrow.

To come along without a bike and passenger on sidecars, is £40 all day.  This is an opportunity for people to find out about sidecar racing and we hope to have Formula 1, Formula 2 and classic sidecars available.  There may even be the chance to try driving (subject to owner's permission).

We need £1600 for exclusive use of the circuit. If we don't get sufficient people, the day will still go ahead, but Llandow Circuit will take control and the price may go up to £80 each solo or sidecar.

Talan Skeels-Piggins, who is paraplegic and the first man so disabled to go road racing, hopes to be fit enough to come along.  (He has suffered a series of medical problems over the winter.)  He set up The Bike Experience, a registered charity, which supports disabled riders who wish to get back out on a bike.  For more information, please see www.tbex.co.uk.  If you know disabled persons who have considered that riding, or driving or passengering, is not possible for them, please let them know that it isn't!

To book places, please email marianne@trailrides-wales.com or phone 01686 430522.  If you wish to pay by internet or telephone banking, please pay into sort code 40-40-25 and account number 0,1,4,0,0,5,9,2  (without the commas), account name Diamonds MCC, giving your name as the reference.  Thanks.  If you prefer to send a cheque, please make it payable to Diamonds MCC, and send it to Marianne Walford, Glanbachog, Staylittle, Llanbrynmair, Powys, SY19 7BU.  Thanks.

If you have friends you think might be interested in either the solo sessions or the sidecar action, I would be grateful if you could forward this email on to them.
