Fork/shock question

Fellas-

Are the 1999-2004 forks easily interchangeable with the 2005-2006 forks? I have the same question for the shock. Will a shock from a 2002 fit a 2005 or 2006?

I believe they carry different part numbers.

the shocks are different length between the spoke wheel and cast wheel girlies

the rake and trail are different also between the two models .
