Greetings from Central Texas!
Recently acquired A low mileage '98 Steamer fitted with D&D cans which I find too loud for my taste.
I really like the steamer but I am concerned that it is running too lean. I get noticeable popping when
decelerating and I feel the power could be better as well. I'm seeking some re-jet advice and having
trouble finding what would be the jet size to start with. I read here about raising the needles a bit with
washers and that makes sense to me. I contacted Dyno Jet and found they do not offer a kit for my '98 equipped with
Keihin carbs.

Honestly tho I think I would be happier with stock exhaust cans as it would be quieter and then maybe wouldn't need re-jetting. I just don't like loud bikes I suppose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated from the Tiger community.

d&d's don't require any major rejetting

the popping is normal for those loud ass piss poor excuse for a muffler .

the only thing that might help the popping is to make sure there are no exhaust leaks and possibly increase the PILOT jet to a #40

You would be wise to go back to stock cans , stealth mode is great !

Finding stock cans is proving to be problematic. I'll hit the interwebs again this weekend with gusto.
Resizing the pilot jets seems easy to do. I'll give it a shot and see if it helps.
