Some of us have issues with the Humber Bridge!

I was thinking of meeting up at a farm shop/cafe on the A66 ,it is easy to find, you just look out for the pair of camels in the field, or The Cafe at Hartside Pass on the A686.
It was sheep in Wales last year. Now we have to look out for bloody camels!! :icon_rolleyes:

Think you'll find sheep in Wales most years, though I have noticed a distinct lack of pretty ones of late :bad

Speaking of which. Do we have a town / village as a base for all the accommodation options and ride outs?
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

This is all  conjecture at the moment, Geoff is running this one so he gets to call.  If you guys want to run a sub thread organising your ride up and return home please feel free; this thread is supposed to be suggestions for Geoff to consider and for him to post draft routes.

I've just checked with Yoda, my North Eastern specialist (GS rider but hey ho); they ran a great GS gathering from Bellingham last year  and he's going to dig out some good quiet roads for a route for me.

No point in re-inventing the wheel, so I'll ring Bellinham and make sure they have room, then Bellingham it is.

There'll be a Starbucks nearby then  :augie

Seriously though, that looks like a good hub with plenty of options around, even the opportunity to play at being Border Reivers  :bad

Easy to prejudge, but he's an ex club racing champion; he and his two mates on their GSs will leave any sports bike you care to choose in the weeds.

Having owned top flight sports bikes in their day (Aprillia Mille, Blade, R1 that I can think of) the fact that they all now own GSs says it all really.

Anyway, back on track....

Nice one BB, I'll be camping so I'll book a pitch.... leaving some room in the bunkhouse for the ladies  :icon_biggrin:

Sin_Tiger

I just play 'em like I see 'em even though a good mate rides his like it was his Busa, he admits he made a mistake buying it but as he says "safe money"  :^_^

So is there the full range of facilities within walking (knowing some of us are a bit limited in that area) and I know CAMRA is going to get a mention soon  :icon_rolleyes:

Looks good to me, which campsite are we looking at, there's two listed on trip adviser, Demense farm and Bellingham caravan and campsite, both look like they have lodges or bunkhouse, the one on Demense farm sleeps fifteen, we could fill that?

Demense Emailed me this morning to say the bunkhouse has some spaces at the weekend but is full during the week.  Ill ring both sites first in the morning then post the result on here straight away so you can get booking.

I favour the other one as they take motorhomes  :icon_mrgreen:

EDIT:

In fact, it doesn't matter which site you end up on as they're quite close so meeting up Sat morning will be easy enough.  With that in mind, lets go for Bellingham Camping and Caravan site as prime, but if you must have a bunk and can't get onto that one, try Demense.

I'll be booking the 'van in the morning!  :wheel

When I saw what Demesne was like, it crossed my mind that it would probably already be a popular choice.

Contingency planning is good but keep your hopes up to be riding by then.

Looks like nothing is very far like Rhayader was. Now is just up to John to find a pub with a vice in the car park  :icon_scratch:
