rear spring

Anyone tell me the free length of the rear shock spring please??

My stock spring measures 8 3/4".

I have my original shock disassembled on the bench
I've thrown my spare rear shock assy on, as this one was leaking, and my '95 year Spring is 8 7/8"  (225.4mm) uncompressed.
Not sure the free length is as critical, as its about compression setting. The spare one I had was 217mm compressed (around 8 1/2")
