Next on the agenda is a full brake refurbishment, all the usual suspects assembled ready for this weekend maybe. One of the calipers has been having a tendency to drag somewhat, and the banjos & bleeders especially look pretty grotty, so after 13 years thought I might as well go the whole hog, watch this space

Pita job but the brakes do need to be done fairly regularly or they do drag. Now the clutch is done on mine it will be strip and clean the calipers at the weekend. Don't think I will be going as far as you though.

Good luck!

I look at it like this. Compared to the previous 2 bikes the Tiger really hasnt cost me much at all, so I think why not throw a bit of cash and love at it. Unless I suddenly have another Brain Fart I reckon shes staying with me for a while. :icon_lol:

Stripdown begins

Not that bad really, the pistons look worse than they are

The ridge between the seal grooves is where its got a bit of build up and its this that seemed to be jamming the pistons

Just there.

20 Minutes with 6000 Wet & Dry and autosol, shiny :icon_biggrin:

Tip I found on the net, useful if you use a vacuum bleeder as It stops air been drawn down the threads.

Ready to go back on.

Master cylinder next installment, when I find some circlip pliers thin enough to get down the bore

I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

Easy with the "right tool", which is funny as thats what the missus often calls me :icon_biggrin:   £15 , BETA Tools.

Almost there, have got a lever using the Mityvac,  but still some air, have tied the lever over night and will bleed tomorrow using old fashioned "10 pumps and bleed" method.

Already for a shakedown ride today to Cirencester and back. I shouldnt say it, but she ran better than ever today, and back to 2 finger braking. Here she is with new brakes and pipes, new screen off ebay and a shiny rear sprocket, thanks Chris :thumbsup

She aint that clean now, 140 miles of back roads and heavy showers cured that
