I changed the oil and filter after my rebuild, and finally had a chance to get it over 4000 rpms today. Wow!
This bike goes from 60 mph to 80 mph in the blink of an eye now, and the motor is just unbelievably smooth. While I had no complaints before the rebuild, the improvements are really noticeable.
So glad I put in the new stuff!
I may not be big, but I'm slow.

Fantastic result! Sounds like the time, effort and guaranteed stress has been repaid in spades. Years of trouble-free riding to come!
Ripper, woke up again.

Is it really an adventure bike if its wheels never see dirt?

Good luck!
It's quite a project, but if you have the tools and the time, it is pretty rewarding.
Best of all, you have this forum, and the other folks on here really know their stuff!
