Posted in 'Wherever Next?' if there is going to be the usual weekend meet for those that carn't do the Ireland trip and was adviced to start a new thread so here it is.

Who want's to meet for 2 or 3 days and anyone want to volunteer to take there turn arranging it.

Also suggestions of dates would be a good starting point. For me not that bothered but June probably preferred.

blacktiger

Yep.  :thumbsup :wheel But I'm away early June until the 19th(ish).

Yup. Count me in for interested in attending but out for helping organise. Done my turn(s)!
Is it really an adventure bike if its wheels never see dirt?

Count me in!  :thumbsup I'm out of the country for a couple of weeks in July (9th-20th) but apart from that I could make a meet! :icon_biggrin:
Suggest we look at SW or SE England this time, unless there are any other suggestions?  :m
All the best, Mat-tiger1. 👍

+1 late July or early August might be better to allow budgets to recover.

How about the borders?
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

Well, I was thinking that I've never seen the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It looks pretty lumpy so should have some interesting roads. Anyone know anything about the area?

http://www.rosedaleabbeycaravanpark.co.uk is pretty central and there's a couple of hotels and a couple of pubs in town.  :thumbsup

There's even a place called Fryup....... http://www.yorkshiremoors.co.uk/walks/fryup_dales.html

End of July or August suits me at the moment.

Almost anywhere is fine with me.  I would be happy with a South of England trip or North Yorks or Borders.

Well we can't complain. The last one was equidistant at an hour from our respective houses.... :thumbsup

I've already done the requisite 10 minutes research for this. :cp

Mmmm. I really enjoyed our time in the Yorkshire Dales back in 2012.  :icon_cool:

Hopefully the North Yorkshire moors would be equally as good!  :^_^

North York Moors has some cracking roads, in a compact area. Rosedale chimney is 30% incline in parts, makes a fun descent. The moors road from Osmotherley to Helmsley is favourite of mine." The Helmsley TT" through Bilsdale is always popular. There is a lovely desolate road around Westerdale and Castleton with a ford. Sadly I probably will not be able to make it this year, but I am happy to suggest roads to ride. And a friend of mine lives in Westerdale and rides a BMW, so we can always sneak out to recce some routes if you want.
It\'s ok , this will only take 5 minutes.

No volunteers for organising this as yet then lads. Come on, who fancies stepping up to the plate?

Don't know much about North Yorkshire Moors but I've done some quick searching and have found other bikers routes that I could join together to make what should be a good ride out. I'll go and ride it but it's quite a way from my house so it's not something I could do very often. If Geoff W doesn't mind I could ping him an e-mail of the route for him to look over and advice us on.

Your idea of Pickering seems a good meeting/sleeping place and you've already found some B+B's/pubs that we could use.

Remember guys that were only spit balling this plan so if there's no takers on arranging it in a different location at least we've got a start on something.

For me I'd like it some were else as I ride these sort of roads and see this sort of scenery all the time but all the same you guys don't so if this is the best we've got come say mid Feb then we'll run with it.

No matter were we end up it's looking like early July could fit in with the people that have given a date suggestion (Black Tiger, Mat-Tiger 1 and Sin Tiger). I'm going to count August out for me as I'm in the process of sorting the family holiday and it's looking like it's going to be sometime in that month. What about June 29th - July 1st?
