No volunteers for organising this as yet then lads. Come on, who fancies stepping up to the plate?

I thought I'd already done it. :^_^

Do you ever get the feeling people don't take you seriously  :^_^

Between the three of you, you could from a committee  :thumbsup
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

I know you have mate. Those that are exempt from volunteering if they choose and if I remember right is me (Yorkshire), yourself (down south some were, Hovis Hill), SinTiger (Scotland), Bixxer Bob (Norfolk), ThreePot(Wales) and Nick Calne (don't know were). Probably got that wrong but you get the jist.

I meant that I'd done the work for this year's meet.

Well, I was thinking that I've never seen the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. It looks pretty lumpy so should have some interesting roads. Anyone know anything about the area?

http://www.rosedaleabbeycaravanpark.co.uk is pretty central and there's a couple of hotels and a couple of pubs in town.  :thumbsup

There's even a place called Fryup....... http://www.yorkshiremoors.co.uk/walks/fryup_dales.html

End of July or August suits me at the moment.

That's all we need isn't it?

What about June 29th - July 1st?

Any other suggestions on dates or is the dates I put forward going to fit in with peoples plans?

mat-tiger1

Just had a quick look at Rosedale Abbey & a lot of the b&b's etc. are fully booked for late July / August  :icon_rolleyes: (popular area for walking by all accounts)
Unless everyone is up for camping, maybe we should look for a slightly bigger village or a town to give us more options forHotels, b&b's, pubs, restaurants etc.  :^_^
(Personally I don't mind listening to Howard snoring in his tent whilst gazing up at the stars!  :icon_eek: :icon_lol:)
Anyway, the surrounding area looks lovely & there seem to be lots of little routes we could possibly stitch together?  :m http://www.ridersguide.co.uk/Rides_in_County_168  :wheel
As ever, I'll go with the flow!  :thumbsup
All the best, Mat-tiger1. 👍

Did you notice if there were busy at the date I suggested. With it being late June, early July we'll be in and out before the 6 week holidays. Could look at Helmsley as an alternative.

Camping will be available just for you Nigel. For the rest of us, it's far more comfortable in the British climate to have a B&B or hotel room to dry off and warm up.  :augie

With regard to other towns to stay in. Why don't we go for a seaside holiday and stay in Whitby? Plenty of hotels. Plenty of places to eat and drink.
These are just a first look at pubs with accommodation.

And camping just outside town. http://www.broadingsfarm.co.uk

Works for me!  :thumbsup Looks to be a lot more options in that area.  :icon_biggrin: :occasion14

If there are no objections or other suggestions, what dates would we be looking at??  :m

(I have to get my holiday requests in early!  :icon_rolleyes: Oh, & pass stamped by SWMBO of course!!  :icon_redface:)

Whitby is great, just very crowded. Good biker cafe next to the station in the centre of town. Just avoid The Goth Weekend, unless you want to meet up with loads of white faced folk wearing cloaks.
It\'s ok , this will only take 5 minutes.

Filey is nice as well, tiny bit further south, good municipal campsite.

Alternatively Scarborough has lots of cheap accommodation. Also the racing is on at Olivers Mount, the only place in England where they "race between the hedges". Races are on 23-24th June. Scarborough bike week 21-29th July with the Barry Sheene racing weekend on 28-29th July.
