Just like my back every morning!

On that trip I took the soft cooler you can see strapped on the very back. Without that, it really isn't so bad.

If the Covid-19 numbers improve, and I can get a vaccine by summer (I'm only 62), I plan on riding solo cross-country to Los Angeles to visit my daughter. Maybe a month on the road altogether, camping all the way. If not this year, then next, as I need to do it while I am still able to do it safely.

The Mosko Moto gear fits the Tiger like it was custom made for it. I now have their Hood tank bag as well, and it is fully waterproof, something that is essential for where I ride. It has held up just like new through many miles, and after a few days on the road, I actually begin to remember where I have everything packed in it, and it gets faster to find stuff ;)
I may not be big, but I'm slow.

I'm being made redundant at the end of June & was also thinking of a couple of long (for us in the UK anyway) trips, maybe 10 - 15 days on my Girly. Was thinking of hitting the four compass points of the UK mainland, visiting a few friends I used to work with ou the way.

Like you, it's Covid dependant & whether I've been vaccinated or not. Things are looking a little better here as there's fewer people to vaccinate. Being sub 60 but diabetic, I'm expecting mine within the next month.
No matter how smart you are you can never convince someone stupid that they are stupid.

That Tiger of Clive's wasn't really a Tiger though was it?

I believe he said it was just that, eat your heart out Rue Paul  :icon_lol:

I like what Mosko Moto have done, I don't want to admit to how much HMRC robbed me of to import a set of the first batch. Good to hear the Hoodie is working out, again a bit of clean sheet thinking  :thumbsup
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

Sorry for the hijack Nick, we've gone a bit OT  :icon_redface:

That Sandy Raid version is getting some bids on Ebay, keep your hands in your pockets tomorrow  :nono

It is at £1,660 at the moment. Not at all bad for the thing. However, it seems to be slightly over the UK price for a decent Steamer, right?

EDIT: Well, it went for £ 1,710. Not bad.

Is that 2398.34 in US dollars?
That would be a bargain here.

It would be a bargain in NL as well. ;)

I've seen steamers go for over 2k recently.
Is it really an adventure bike if its wheels never see dirt?

Sin_Tiger

I varies a lot depending on location, 2k in the posh places  ;)

Is there a market in exporting them to Sevvy or Ghulst then. Sin and I bag some, give 'em a tweak up, ship them out to the US or ride them to Holland, then boom, a small profit but lots of fun.

I know there used to be a market for used German utility vehicles like the Unimog and Hanomag Henschel here. They would import them into a port somewhere (New Jersey?), and then auction them or sell them to folks who had given them a deposit. My neighbor bought a HH troop carrier, but never got much use out of it, as the electrical system was 24 volts I think, and parts were unobtainable. Cool vehicle, but ended up housing chickens in the carrier part when he sold the chassis to someone else with grand ideas.

The trouble is, that they are bikes for a limited audience here. The main thing with that is, that they were hardly sold new around here, which means that they seldom come up for sale second hand. If they do pop up, the prices for good steamers are all over the place. There is a Triumph specialist that lists them up to € 5500,- but then you know they have given them the once (or even twice) over. Regular traders might have them from 2000-2500 and upwards. Individual sellers can never be predicted. I bought mine for €1000, but it had some stuff that needed to be done to it. So, I would not set up an import/export market towards NL. ;-)

Anyway, back to tires. ;)

:*&* we've gone so fat OT on this one we've forgotten it was about colour schemes

So Nick, Desert Storm currently on trend, something classic racey or maybe Alan Carr has some suggestions  ;)
