2021 Tigertriple Trip Info Thread

Bixxer has requested a new thread to record just the decisions, info and participation of the forthcoming trip to the Isle of Man (as suggested by the mighty Blacktiger)

This thread will be about details only whereas the 2021 survivors ride thread remains about trip banter, chit chat and whether or not covid is a new world order plan to change us into slaves of the Chinese.

Bixxer will no doubt police up comments in the wrong place so please don't be offended if stuff gets moved or edited
appropriately. He's doing a difficult job.

So the key questions are:

Do you wish to come?

What dates, if any are no good to you?

Can you help with the organisation and planning?

Some facts:

You will definitely be made very welcome if you have not come on a previous trip.

You can bring your other half if you want.

Drinking beer is optional, but if you like a pint there are few people who will show you the way to the pub.

Generally we ride as a group but there is nothing stopping you being involved as much or little as you wish.

Some riders are faster than others but there are no nutters. If, like me, you are more inclined to look at the scenery than look for the apexes we have a no-pressure, helpful system to ensure you won't get left behind or hold anyone up.

You can ride any type of bike you want on this trip. It is better if it is a tiger, but no one minds what you ride really.

With Bodger Johnson's proclamation yesterday setting us free to travel in the near future can we all sound off about dates we can make please?

To dodge Bixxer's race calendar and a few other commitments mentioned to me we are probably looking at:

The middle of June
The second half of August
All but the first week of September

With enough notice you can count me in for any of those dates.  :thumbsup :occasion14
All the best, Mat-tiger1. 👍

Straw poll by Whatsapp reveals a preference for 10-13th September as a starting point.  Some may wish to stay longer of course.

Some info for those that might want to try a green lane.

:thumbsup I'll get my old maps out. Having been there and ridden a lot of them on an XR250R and then an XR600R, some are not for big bikes. :nap

Wouldn't mind trying a few green lanes while we're over there!  :wheel :thumbsup
It'll work up a good thirst anyway!  :occasion14 :icon_biggrin:

Good man. The Millenium Way had been surfaced just before my last visit in 1997 and was quite easy. Others would be quite a struggle on a Tiger. We'd have to pick a chose carefully.

Right, so, these two hotels have good availability at the moment and are really close together so it wouldn't matter if we're split between the two. There are doubles for people like me who like a bit of quiet away from snorers and there are twins for others who........ :^_^
