Stuart is a bit Ranty, and has a bit of a thing against Triumph after sales.

 :iagree

The 2010+ EFI Thruxton is reasonably comfortable as they went to a top bar rather than the earlier clip on's for the carb versions. About four years ago I did a round trip to Cambridge area in a day on mine and didn't require surgery  :mut  but I'd not recommend it for longer periods negotiating heavy traffic, I was more knackered after spending a Fri afternoon in KL.
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

I've ridden the Interceptor, its a cracking bike for the money. Since you're London anyway, have a look TTT Motorcycles at Cambridge Heath.  I know the owner, Andy, and I've worked for him a few times at his Sudbury branch where my mate Ben is the manager.  In fact, if you fancy a ride out, the Sudbury place is worth a look anyway.

If you decide to have a run out, let me know and I'll meet you there.

I went past TTT  in E2 on my Fiery round trip, but by the time I got there, I was v hot and bothered, and wasn't sure where to park, so other than a slow ride by, I never went in...
The Sudbury one looks like a good ride out though..

W800 now there's a good shout.  Here is the finest review of the w800, and indeed any motorcycle, ever.

Not that I'm looking to change bikes any time soon, but I enjoyed that review.  :><

Edit: Just watched a few more of his reviews - I doubt you could get away with them in 'Woke Britain' but I found them highly entertaining.

Easy to please me, obviously.
No matter how smart you are you can never convince someone stupid that they are stupid.

Any specific reason why Chris?

They are really good, especially the peak hipster ones.

Just looked bloody old fashioned, in fact didn’t look out of place with all the 50 year old bikes that were there, if someone is after that look with hopefully modern day reliability, then fair enough I guess but I found them incredibly under whelming.

How about a CCM Spitfire? Or is it too modern looking?

Misses the whole Retro vibe I'm looking for tbh, but quite a beast...
