Looking for somewhere to go.... ?

Don't know where it's at ...... ?

Today I just received my FREE ....   ByWays map book.
Printed by the the guberment it describes and maps 126 scenic roads in 44 states.  A great week-end getaway planner or mesh some in with a longer ride.  It is perfect 'tank bag' sized.

To get one ...  www.byways.org ... sign up for the freebee... allow 3 weeks
for it to hit your mailbox ....

Let's see.... I've always wanted to visit South Louisiana... hmmm..
the Creole Nature Trail looks inviting. It takes you through the
Louisiana Outback through marshes, prairies, and along the Gulf Coast.
A good opportunity to visit Avery Island too! ( Home of Tobasco products).  Says here 180 miles / 4.5 hours / or take your time and spend 2 dys.

The site says it's a brochure.  It that what you're referring to?

TigerTrax

That's it...

I guess it says BROCHURE because it's not a 7000 page document that has to be wheeled around on a cart!

It is kinda neat..

I noticed that NEBRASKA does NOT have a scenic byway....
I would have thought that I-80 running under the Kearny Arch would have qualified! I guess 20 feet for a byway is not what they are looking for!

It is Nebraska, after all...

Actually I've never been to Nebraska.  My favorite "Senic Byway" was south of Sulphur, Louisiana, through the oil refineries.

Mine came in the mail today.  I'm surprised at how many of these roads I've ridden...

Maryland's Chesapeake Scenic Byway (some of it)

Arkansas's Great River Road (some of it)

Florida's A1A Scenic and Historical Byway (some of it)

Florida's Indian River Lagoon Scenic Byway  (some of it)

Georgia's Russell-Brasstown National Scenic Byway (all of it, at one time or another)

North Carolina's Blue Ridge Parkway (some of it)

North Carolina's Cherohala Skyway (some of it)

Virginia's Colonial Parkway (some of it)

Virginia's George Washington memorial Parkway (about half of it)

    Idaho's Northwest Passage Scenic Byway

Colorado and Utah's Trail of the Ancients  (part of it)

    Nevada's Las Vegas Strip

Arizona's Historic Route 66 (some of it)

New Mexico's Billy The Kid Trail (most of it)

    Alaska's Glenn Highway (every mile)

Oregon's Historic Columbia River Highway (every mile)

I ordered the Nova Scotia Motorcycle tour guide here: https://novascotia.com/en/home/planatri ... fault.aspx at the same time and it has not arrived.  I have reordered so we shall see what that one has in it.  I have driven all over Nova Scotia and can not wait to get there on the moto...

The US byways is a pretty good reference.  All these guides give me the itch, especially when we are looking at negative temps and snow here.  Working on a trip to Copper Canyon next oct, like everyone else it seems..
Cheers,
Greg
