I already have a CRF450x honda and for my taste they look bad to the bone motarded and with Black Plastics instead of red , with two sets of wheels you got the best of both worlds .

They are a blast to brake slide into a corner and make well over 50 hp with a little tweaking and only weigh 255 lbs

Here's one in red

The honda CRF's look great motarded, it has something to do do with the shape of the triangle drawn from triple-trees to pegs to tail.  There are just some dirt bikes that look kind of dorky in motard dress.  Case in point, if you've ever seen a KLR motarded, it looks a bit "missing the point."  As manufacturers start making SuMo specific bikes, they're changing the style a bit, and I like it.

Personally I think Husky gets that line the best.

i think you should buy 10 bikes from china, there's bound to be one good one out of the bunch, but if you just have to - go for the aprilia. there just too cool 8)

As an interesting aside, a French firm called Tuscon is making a V twin race bike using the engine from this Aprilia.
The report in MCN says that they have received help from Aprilia with gearing and cams. They also say that the short service life stops it being turned into a road bike, but it could be.

The idea is to make the bike very, very light, it would be entered in the racing twins category and as such would be up against Ducatis 1098. If it's light enough they think the straight line speed it loses will be more than made up for by it's high corner speeds, especially on twistier tracks.

I've heard of people putting the 550v into the Aprilia RS125 bike.  Weight would be under 300lbs, and power would be 70hp+ (if tuned).  I don't know how competitive it would be, but it could be fun.

Even lighter Geof, overall weight 97Kg, frame weighs 3.5Kg and the forks about 5. Gonna need every bit of power against a 1098R, hope they do well.
