Hi my name is Yosh, my girlfriend and I are on a adventure trip from Seattle WA to Central America.
We've been having some alternator issues on our 1998 Triumph Tiger (the carbed version/steamer) and are in desperate search for a new alternator.
Were currently in South Easter California, about 40 miles from the Mexicali Boarder, were also 30 miles from the nearest internet service.

If you have an alternator, know someone who has an alternator, or have some advise please please give me a call, if you want your welcome to text me your number and I'll call you to save on the long distance.

According to bikebandit.com all of these triumphs use the same alternator

Get a Steamer ditch the Beemer!!

abruzzi

Moved from "Bikes For Sale" to "Steamers".

Now on to the question.  I don't have a spare, maybe someone here does, but a couple thoughts.  You don't say what's wrong with yours, but if it is intact, but not charging, you may look around for an old school auto electric shop.  There is a good chance they can repair it, wether it is rewinding or new brushes, or something else.  I've heard the most common failure on the steamer alt is worn brushes.

Good luck.

hey brother yosh, sorry to hear about your trouble. i agree with geof. find a shop and they should be able to rebuild her for you. any local motorcycle shops around? good luck and shoot me an email when you get back up here..

Just saw this....I have a spare, of course, since it's in Maine it probably won't do you much good.  But it's yours if you still need it.  I'll try calling the cell number.

Maybe you could have the cartel send a plane.  It would be there today - I hear they're extremely efficient!
