Whats a "Steamer?"

G'day folks. I'm new here. I have noticed much to my amusement that the older style Tigers (300 series I think) are called "Steamers"? Why is it so? I know being out here in the colonies (ie Australia) we are a little behind on some things, but with tops weather and a bloody lot of space to belt around in I think its great.  Cheers.

I think "Steamer" originates from American owners.

It refers to the older Tigers having carburettors as against the newer (Girly) Tigers having fuel injection. ie. steam driven as against nuclear fission!

Again, the Girly tag is something to do with the later models more feminine contours compared to it's predecessor.

Personally, I don't like these tags (being a Girly rider?)
