hole in the radiator

I'm out on vacation and got a small hole in my rad in Moab.  I have been told that the best temperary fix will be to pinch off the sleeve.  

Will this work on a Girly?  Anybody had any similar experience or advise?  After asking around, there does not seem to be a radiator shop in town, but there is a dual sport oriented bike shop.  Is there anything that they should/ not do?  ANything special about burping the coolant?

Check a 4wd shop; esp one that does fabrication. I bet they got connection to someone sorta local that can do a radiator or one of them does it them self.
