Quote from: "macgart"Nice trip.  That route would be very doable fro me as well.  Douglas Pass from Loma to Rangely is a great ride.  I cross that pass several times a season and it never fails to please.

I hope to get down towards Capitol Reef this fall or next spring; what a beautiful area.

macgart,

When I planned the trip I was really focused on taking secondary highways (the way I like to travel) and was very surprised by most of the route. I hadn't taken many of these roads in the past and found that each of them had relatively long stretches of incredible scenery, minimal traffic, lots of curves, and were basically perfect for the motorcycle. It doesn't look like I'll have a chance to finish my planned route this year (and probably not next year as I have something a little longer in mind), but I will get the rest of the route in sometime in the not-too-distant future.

thanks,
Todd

Thanks Todd for the ride report. Great pictures. I ride through your area every year. My wife especially likes the town of Kanab.

You know... I have a week of vacation coming up the last week in December that I'm being forced to burn.  My daughter will be at her Mom's so I could go seeking warmer climates...

Hmmm.

Mike,

Let me know the next time you're headed this way. Perhaps lunch or coffee in town..........

EB,

If it was me I'd plan on heading farther south if  was looking for warm weather. Although we do have pretty much year round riding it is 12 degrees outside right now (-11.1 celcius cause I know you like the metric system). Lots of neat stuff to see in central and southern AZ.

Macgart,

Its a goodie!!

take care,

Todd

You do have some lovely country around there, I skied there in the 80's (yes I know I'm getting on thank you) and beautifully photographed thanks for sharing.
I used to have long hair, took acid and went to hip joints. Now I long for hair, take antacid and need a new hip joint

Sorry that's what I meant.  No way in hell I'd be heading North in this weather :)

NM or AZ were my first two considerations :)
