Big Mark was on about the cost of B&B in Scotland so I thought I'd kick off with a couple of cheapish places I can recommend - and they're bike friendly:

1.  Lochearnhead Hotel - central base for a few days of mid-Scotland or a stopover going North.  Has secure bike parking in their ample garage, around £40 per person per night double room: http://www.lochearnhead-hotel.com/ (http://www.lochearnhead-hotel.com/)

2.  Portsonachan Hotel, Loch Awe.  A bit further West (and a bit tricky to find) but worth it.  They look pricey, but they're always ringing me up with special offers which are usually around £200 for two people for 3 nights plus one night free so you can do Mon-Fri for that price.  It's worth asking, just say a mate recommended their special offers    We (4 on 2 bikes) turned up wet through, they looked at us and gave us a free upgrade to a waterfront chalet.  I guess they didn't want us traipsing through the hotel making puddles on the carpets but we got the best of the deal, the chalets are really nice.

Not really a ride report .....but for lack of somewhere else to put it , it does seem like ride reports is the best place to leave this  :D  :D
