Yesterday whilst riding around on the steamer I noticed a new vibration in the forks.   it was dark when I Got back, but when I checked it today I found the head nut finger tight.

My book of words is in storage at the moment, would someone kindly help me out here?

you talking about the bearing preload nuts or just the crown nut on the top of the stem ?
the top crown nut is 65 nm or 48 foot pounds

and the lock nut for bearing preload is 40 nm or 30 foot pounds

but only the bearing LOCK NUT the bearing preload nut should be set so as to obtain the proper preload on the bearings
