What are these bolts for?

Found a allen bolt underneath each fork leg other day while giving the bike its first wash...don't suppose any knows what they are for?...surely not draining the fork oil, it'd be too easy! :wink:

They hold the inner bit to the outer bit.

to drain the oil you need to turn the bike over! :shock:

Indeed. Basically they hold the damping rod in place and are the only thing stopping the sliders flying off when you do a wheelie!!. For that reason, you'll find that they are "Loctited" in.

Only undo these bolts if you're taking the whole leg to bits to replace seals or bushes.
