KillaHedgeHog

Quote from: "KillaHedgeHog"I have verniered them up and they seem to measure exactly the same base diameter and max lobe height, but it's obviously quite hard to measure the timing with basic measuring implements!

I have some T595 cams coming, which I only bought as they were dirt cheap on ebay!  Can the font of all knowledge give me any clues as to whether these are the same as the trident 98PS engines?
I can't find anything online.  I'll have to check a workshop manual tomorrow and get back to you.

Well I have my T595 cam shafts arrive today... I quick vernier up and it seems both inlet and exhaust have a wopping 9.2mm lift!  All other attributes seem to be the same, base diameter is within 0.1mm of tiger cams, duration is obviously massively increased, obvious because the lobe is very much rounder than the tiger cams, which look very pointy by comparison.

The T595 cams come with a dob of yellow paint on them.  These seem very close to the specs for the Super III cams, but part numbers differ on the BikeBandit site.

Questions!

Will the extra 2mm of lift break my engine!

Are original valve springs up to the task, I notice the part numbers change for the springs between the two models.

I've heard of Super III cam shafts supposedly flicking shims out of buckets, but find that unlikely as the buckets from 94 Tiger to 97 T595 are the same part number.

Anything else I haven't thought of?
