21 years of active duty service, retired in 2006 and now a federal law enforcement academy instructor.

They gave us the day off so I spent it in the garage wrenching on a buddy's bike.

Many thanks and my eternal gratitude for those still serving.

"21 years of active duty service, retired in 2006 and now a federal law enforcement academy instructor. "

What do you teach at FLETC? I know a guy in the firearms division down there.

Well then, thanks to the five of us.  Especially thanks to the ones who have had lead flying their way (I'm not in that group).

I have had a bit of lead flying my way, but the worst was when we departed the runway into a minefield.  Nosegear malfunction.  We came running out of the plane and heard people yelling, "stop running, you are in a minefield".

Yep.  1970 E-model C-130.  Almost certainly in the boneyard now due to wing spar cracks.

The guy I know is with the firearms division at FLETC Charleston.

I was never in the military, just the Air force.

My 21 years were in the AF, all of it either under a ruck sack, or jumping out of perfectly good airplanes.

I've always held the metality that the people enabling others to put direct fire on the enemy is a warrior in their own right.  Without those folks making it happen, I couldn't have accomplished my missions during my last 2 tours in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan.

Thank you for your support and service, I still appreciate it to this day.

I'm in the Defensive Tactics branch at the academy. It's a small world, if you're ever up this way give me a shout. We'll ride over to the beach and I'll buy you a beer!

Hey Bixxer Bob, I did a 9 month exchange with the 2622 RAF Air Regiment at RAF Losimouth back in 2001, an absolutely stunning area and one I certainly plan on returning to again.

I spent a couple of nights out on a pub crawl in Elgin, not something I plan on experiencing again anytime soon...... those chaps can drink!

I did steal a rock from the highest point in the highlands. My sorry ass humped a rucksack, weapon and associated combat gear all the way up there, I figured a rock wouldn't make that big of a difference on the way back down..... still have that rock to this day.

During one of my Iraq vacations near Mosul, I was attached to an RAF Air Regiment as the USAF liason, and once again had a warm welcome and fantastic experience operating with them.

I'm planning a trip with the wife for next year. We'll start at RAF Mildenhal and taking a route through the Highlands and to Stirling Castle, her direct heritage.

Good on you for making it through to retirement and thank you for your service!

Might want to plan a quick trip to Scotland while there, and maybe pop over to the Triumph factory and do a tour, if you hit up a local dealer ( in the UK you can sign up in advance)...

Worked off and on with Her majesty's finest a few times...
I even made a few trips up to Spean Bridge.

I rode my Sprint all over England and Scotland..

My wife rides the T-Bird, her father has a restored Tiger Cub, I have the Sprint for a while longer and the Tiger's coming home on the 22nd.

I'll find a dealer once there a see if we can work out a factory tour, thanks for the excellent idea!

Hi Tom,  I've been to Elgin a few times, although my wife knows it better, as she's a regular visitor to Lossie due to her working in support for our Tornado aircraft.  She can drink better than me too.  We only live about an hour from Mildenhall so if you pm me for an Email address,  I'd be happy to help out / show you some sights or just meet up somewhere when you come over.
