I have had quite a bit of 3DO stuff and that is like lugging a bit of a weight around. The new stuff is so much nicer. Lighter and more comfortable wins for me every time. After all, comfort does define whether you actually use it. ;)

On the MFlyer, I have tried watching his stuff, but never could make it longer than 5 mins... And there is so much other good content around. ;)

New Alpinestars back protector was delivered today. Half the weight & thickness of my old one  being honeycombs. Popped it I  the jacket & you can barely feel it,not like the real old Hein Gericke one that felt like a plank strapped to your back

I have the option on a 1200 that i would love to make a Steamer out of, but I really can't see what to do with the fuel tap - it literally sits where the 4th carb will go. I know there is a picture in here, but has it got a fuel tank on it?

Unfortunately the Facebook page has long since gone  :^_^
Looking at the fixings and the top line of the side panel, it does seem to have the tank fitted. How much is modified is unknown

Wasn't sure whether to put this in TalynJ's diary, Tallulah's diary or here. While it's not specifically about my recently purchased riding kit, it does get a mention, so here it is.  :icon_biggrin:

Been buying more stuff while I'm not riding.

Between Xmas & New Year Mrs L fell down the stairs & broke her wrist while at her sisters (130 miles away) so what with working, driving around the country to drop off some medication for her as she was running out, picking her up to bring her home for a medical appointment, driving to her sisters again to pick up her car and generally driving to & from various hospitals for appointments (not blood bike related and oddly, different hospitals to usual), I've had no time to ride.

I charged up Tallulah's battery - yes, she's still in the garage, still taxed & MOT'd, with the intention to take her out for a few hours, the weather changed on the only day I had free. It wqs not nice out there, even the local Magpie sat on the back of a chair under the lean-to at the back of the house.

Talyn J is awaiting a service. I've bought some semi-synth oil and a new oil filter for her annual mini-service and am now just waiting for time to sort her out.

I also purchased a spray guard from Pyramid Plastics. To fit this, I need to reverse the rear wheel spindle, so that still sits in the box waiting for the service to be done.

And, I've just bought a new Alpinestars back protector for my new and yet to be work in anger, Andes Drystar jacket. I finally found out how to remove the existing armour as well. It's nowhere near as easy as it is for the old Andes 2 kit, but having now taken the knee armour out to look at, I've realised it's that new 'Nucleon' stuff made from a Viscoelastic foam, fancy words for the harder you hit it, the more solid it becomes. The knee, shoulder & elbow armour appears to be only around 4mm thick, while the back protector is probably twice that.

As long as it works if I need it, I'm happy with it. It's a lot more comfortable than the knee armour in my Bull-it jeans.

So, while I've been buying new kit, it's mostly in readiness for the coming months, rather than for now.

Oh, I also bought some spare inner tubes for Talyn J. Not that I've had any problems, but I don't know when they were last replaced. I've had JTalyn J for 2 years & I've never replaced them. Also, if I do manage to pick up a puncture, what's the odds that the RAC is going to get me going again without a spare inner tube.  :^_^

I use a scissor jack lift under the center of the bike. I put that where the centre stand is, but it is a bit wider and more stable than the centre stand. I like that solution for my bike. I can lift it higher than the rear wheel sits, so the weight tilts to the front wheel and the back is free to work on. You can see the blue rectangle below the Tiger in this picture. ;) I don't really have a shot from the side.

I find the same on my 955i with the paddock stand  but the centre stand works fine.

Hopefully the last post in this saga.

I went through the injectors again, cleaned them all up, replaced the one that had been misfiring (again). Rebalanced the throttle bodies.

Then ran the engine, still a little rough but the backfiring into the throttle bodies appeared fixed.

I plugged in the airbox sensors and it ran fine. At this point I dropped the airbox and it pulled the temperature sensor wires out of the connector. This was in August.

After that I had to to find a wiring loom with the same plugs to splice, but also had to do loads of DIY in preparation for the birth of my first child.

FINALLY got back to it! Spliced the plug on, double checked I hadn't missed anything and reassembled. Will take it for a spin soon but looking good so far.
