Has anybody done it? My GPS (car garmin) doesn't like the powerport to a usb for charging. Figure I might as well look into replacing the thing as I don't have anything that uses it anyways. Anybody do it? If yes/no what set up are you using to charge stuff?
i run a switched 5 port relay from the tail light :thumbsup
and power extra lights, and other bits from it,
how about the extra socket hole by the seat on the left side
you could you fit a normal fag socket there ??
and use the oem wiring already there :icon_study:
any thing else just ask :pottytrain2

I find the straight / long din plugs wobble and frequently loose contact. Rather than change the socket, the solution I use is 90deg adaptor leads like this. They come with just about every end you can think of, including cig type and even USB now, or make your own with a rewirable plug.

OOer, think our US cousins may interpret that a bit different :icon_lol:
Haha, with our new President and all I think many in America may wonder why you smoke gay men across the pond. :)
I do have a hella port on the rear of the bike but really don't like the idea of running a cord all the way up. Was hoping someone was able to fit a cig lighter in the ignition switch cover or even had come up with another solution that looked tidy, allowed for short cords to be used that actually function well unlike the hella port adapters I've had in the past.
:icon_idea: I misunderstood your OP. I'd be tempted to hard wire the GPS if that's all you'll use but with it being a car model and not being familiar with those types and how you might waterproof them, can't really offer much advice.
