Tiger 800's (2010 - 2020 Tigers) / Re: New Tiger Sport 800 2025

Just had a look on the Triumph site and I have to say, aside from the triple sound, it looks like every other new adventure/touring bike out there.

Probably good for the likes of me with aging back and an upright riding position and probably OK for a touring bike, but there's a lot of competition out there and the Tiger 800 Sport just blends in with the rest.

Honestly, if it didn't have "Tiger" in the name, is it not just another part faired sports bike. They did this with the 1050 which, imho was a Tiger in name only. Not my thing at all, but luckily we are all individuals, so whilst I have no interest, others will no doubt love it...

Tiger 800's (2010 - 2020 Tigers) / New Tiger Sport 800 2025

Greetings again from Greece,
The time has finally come to redeem us with a completely new motorcycle and a new mechanical set Tiger Sport 800 2025 with all these specifications 113HP@10.750rpm , 84Nm@8500rpm , 798cc what do you think for the next 92cc more Japanese rival in the basic version  Tracer 9 2025 , but also the same specs of MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce 800 2025 110HP@11.000rpm , 84Nm@8500rpm 798cc.
Triumph Tiger 800's still in the game of Sport Touring and keep it up playing.
PS.The company's engineers continue creatively and passionately making a very remarkable progress in engineering based on reliability where the well-known rival would be very jealous and rub their eyes.

General Discussions / Can you just...

8:30:
Mrs L: "do you have anything you want to do today?

Me: I thought you wanted to go car hunting? I was planning to stop off at M&S food hall for a coffee then go on to Smiths (car dealers) as we discussed yesterday. We can book your car in for (some work) at the same time.

Mrs L: No, I don't want to do that today, I don't want to walk around. I'll just do some banking & sort my emails out.

Me: OK, I'll take the bike out for a few hours then.

9:30, just as I'm getting my bike gear out
Mrs L: Before you go, can you help me find my V-pillow, it's in the airing cupboard somewhere.

Me: pulls black cloth holdall off the top shelf: Is this it?

Mrs L: no, that's a single duvet - the pillow is in there somewhere though.

10 minutes later after emptying the airing cupboard
Me: Can't find it in here, are you sure it's in here?

Mrs L: I've found it, it was in that black cloth holdall. While you're there, can you just get the hoover & hobver the carpet in the airing cupboard (we had mice a while back & evidence was still in the cupboard behind the hot water tank).

Me: goes & gets hover, hoovers cupboard.

Mes L: before you put the hoover away, can you just hoover the spare room, it hasn't been done for a while.
Me: hoovers spare room

it's now gone 11:00, I need a pee but Mrs L's just gone in the bathroom for a shower as she's had a busy morning (??), I need a coffee & I still need to get out on the bike before Mrs L finds another "CAN YOU JUST..."

While I did take my silver Girly out for a quick run  dadlybit was nowhere near you. Just 20 or so miles locally before giving g the xc a good run to the east coast & back.

Taking the 800Xc to it's new home by the sea. Loads of bikes out today on the ride down from London, but one that caught my eye was a Silver Gilie with the black tank decals heading North. Not as rare as a Steamer, but still not common now. Wondered if it was anyone on here..

Can you hear the pump priming? have you recently removed the tank, or done any work on it?

Steamers (1993-1998 Tigers) / Re: Mo.unit
Last post by London_Phil - March 09, 2025, 05:17:48 PM
The Mo.unit looks like the sort of thing you fit AFTER sorting the loom. Think it may be worth looking at a replacement loom, even if its only to replace the bad bits with some heatshring solder sleeves. I've done a few custom bike looms, and they are not bad to use. I got Lidl ones and heatshrink too, and did  find they worked suprisingly well. The  Steamer loom is fairly basic compared to a modern FI/abs system, so I would sort the existing loom out using better quality connectors where possible. ( Amazon do sets of multiway waterproof connectors if your brave...)
