Details of accommodation / links to follow once I've checked them out. As per usual, I'll provide the options but it's up to you to book your own.
Threepot is going to post agreed details of the meet here. Anything other than serious questions will be deleted, banter on the other thread please.
Hi guys. I must congratulate SinT for a brilliant job with the Scotland meet last year! :thumbsup I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. It was my first visit on a bike, and definitely not my last! The Glencoe Pass is calling me!! :love10
I'll think you'll agree, there are a few 'ingredients' that make a successful meet..attendees(that's up to you) ,weather(fingers crossed), location and accommodation. I think Rhayader is suitable, good campsite, hotels, pubs and restaurants. Rideout on Saturday,I've sort of got a route planned which will take in some nice, scenic roads around the Brecon Beacons. Then head West. I propose a lunch stop at the Havod Hotel at Devils bridge. I can enquire about menu etc. I have already spoken to them. Ride up the coast, then head back towards the Elan Valley dams. Then maybe book tables at the Lamb and Flag in Rhayader for an evening dinner?
If anyone is coming a day early, maybe a visit to the South Wales Borderers museum in Brecon? Battle at Rorkes Drift fame. This is an initial plan at the moment OK,but it gives us a base to work on :icon_wink:
3pot,
bit of a change on my part, got a speed nipple riding mate who wants to tag along but is really not a camper, can we both put our names down for the bunkhouse please.
I may have a rocket 3 interested too, but I'll let ya know when/if he gets clearance from HQ.

Rocket3,that rules out any green lane riding then :augie Love the R3 though :thumbsup. I'm tempted with 'bunking' myself?
1 for camping please
cheers Spud :thumbsup
Looks like you've got everything in hand 3pot :thumbsup. Sounds like it's going to be a good meet already (weather permitting). Could you please edit the first post to include links to the b+b, bunkhouse, camping sites. I take it were booking our own accommodation like we've always done. Only asking as some of the posts read as if your booking them for us.
I'm going to check out the bunkhouse at the Lamb and Flag. Hope to do that soon, and post some pics OK. With regards to campsite and hotels..thats up to you guys. There is a good campsite, and a few hotels if thats your thing?

The campsite is a short walk from the town, and has good facilities.

On the subject of green laning, my steamer has a 3 spoke conversion, so you go ahead and plan any green laning you want to do, & me and my mate will ride round and meet ya at the other end. Wouldn't wanna interfere with your off road fun.
Not planning any green laning, had enough picking my steamer up! :nap :icon_rolleyes:
On a more serious note, paid a visit to Rhayader today. Had lunch at the Lamb and Flag, steak and ale pie,and very nice it was too. Made some enquiries about the accommodation there, and took some pics. The bunkhouse is more like a hotel! They have a nice function room if we choose to eat there, depending on numbers obviously?
Price for bunkhouse..£24.50 EA per night, with breakfast. £20 without.
Can't see it being left in that state once you guys have finished with it! :icon_lol: :icon_wink:
Not many confirmed as yet, anymore for anymore?? :^_^
Just sent a message to the campsite to reserve a pitch :icon_biggrin: ... such is my commitment :thumbsup
I mentioned TigerTriple to let them know to keep the pitches adjacent :sign13 (I don't snore)
http://www.wyesidecamping.co.uk/contact-us.html
Count me in, if there is space in the bunkhouse I will have a bed in there, otherwise I'll bring my tent. i have not been back to Wales for over twenty years. Should be fun.
Great Geoff :thumbsup
Guys, can you take responsibility for booking accommodation please. Don't know if deposits are needed?
Hopefully,if enough show an interest,we'll have it to ourselves? http://www.lambandflagcoachinginn.co.uk/
Another thing to consider..I plan a stop at Devils Bridge on the Saturday run. You can have a meal,or a light lunch? Take into consideration what you have for breakfast that morning. And what we plan to do for a meal in the evening? Open to suggestions OK.

3pot,
You mean for the bunkhousers? Are they expecting us?
Gav
Yes,but I've not booked anything with them. I just went there last Wed to check the place out..hence the photo's. There's 3 names for the bunkhouse so far. How many are staying Saturday night only? I could ring and provisionaly book if you want?
ok, I`ll do bunkhouse if people can put up snoring / clicking through the night. Do we need 8 to secure ? reckon we need a Sin-Tiger spreadsheet for attendees etc, plus theres a good few pubs doing decent meals etc just need Blacktiger to give the ok on proper beer places :)
Hi Pete, just added your name to the list :thumbsup Thats 5 so far for the bunkhouse. I'll ring later and provisionally book. With luck,we might have it to ourselves?? I'll ask :icon_wink:

Routes! I haven't even booked somewhere to stay yet :BangHead
Ok now I have, in the Elan Hotel from friday to sunday, let the riding commence
OK,Top Gear have used it,and if you behave..I might take you there :icon_wink:
I'd just fitted 'new' forks on the S3,and taken it out for a run. Bought these for £200!!..New! Apparently Triumph are selling old stock parts ?
Can you move the sheep please, they're no good as a braking point and they have a bad habit of wandering into the road.
Nice bike, nice view, nice road..............must have been a nice day.
Thanks Nick. My Super3 is the best bike I've ever ridden!! OK,its not as fast as an R1,or any of the latest offerings, but it's so involving..feels like a your on something thats 'alive' underneath you, with the sound it makes, and the way the power comes in after 2.5k revs :love10
Still love 'tigger' though :icon_wink:

You've got it there. The Tiger is my first triple and there is nothing like that sound. I wish Stanley was little quieter, though, because although I revel in the sound I'm sure that the general public are just thinking "w@nker" as I go by.

Back to the serious stuff.....Threepot, have you got a route sorted and did Matt get in touch about a bit off roading? also whats the score with the digs? do we need to get in touch and leave a deposit etc...
Also, who`s going from this end or via this end on the Friday ??
I'll check with the Lamb and Flag about deposits, but nothing was mentioned when I booked. I've got a run planned around the Beacons etc, plenty of good roads around there, nothing 'off rd' though? Then head over to Devils Bridge for lunch,coffee..depends what you guy's want after that? Aberystwyth, Head further north? I want to take in the B4405 ,B4518
Not going to be able to make this one and I'm gutted :icon_cry: , really want to come as Wales is lovely both on and off the bike. Didn't put my name down as I knew I might have other commitments and I've not been able to shift things around so I could come and I'm pissed about it :BangHead . I'm aiming to arrive at the camp site around 12-1pm :nod..... (but when on two wheels, being late is in my genes :icon_biggrin: )
I've just confirmed a provisional booking for 5 at the bunkhouse..Fri and Sat. There are 3 more spaces in the one below. So I need to confirm ASAP, numbers, and nights required!!! Please advise :wave
PS,the main bunkhouse has 5 single beds,the one below..1 double,and single.
I will ride down on Friday , should arrive mid-dayish. Anyone from North-East want to meet up, let me know.
Do I have a bed in the bunkhouse reserved?
I could do with one as creeping in and out of my tent is difficult at the moment, I may improve next week when the stitches come out of my knee.

Still need the 3 bunks for fri & sat night.
Getting the ferry to Southampton to arrive there by 10am. So should be in South Wales for about midday, mid Wales about 2-3pm after we've taken the long route through the Brecons.
I make it 5 bunking?? So our provisional booking covers that for now. But there is room for 2 more. Its booked for the Fri and Sat. I'm up for both. Please confirm yourselves,so I can clear it with the lamb and flag OK.

I've just txd my friend to check if he's coming? He's a bus driver,so its not easy for him to book time off.I think the 2 bunkhouses sleeps 8? but that includes the double bed! If he comes, thats 7. I can then book the 2 rooms.
:thumbsup
Hi everyone.
I wonder if you would mind if I tagged along.
I tried to go to the weekend in 2013, but circumstances prevailed against me. This year is should be OK for me and as I live in Bristol, it's only a short ride to Wales.
I have just booked a room in the Lamb and Flag. It seems incredibly cheap and I like my home comforts these days, so I will leave my tent behind.
I can easily arrive at midday on Friday.
Has anyone agreed a meeting place for those who can get there at midday?
Are we all eating together for the evenings and if you have already booked a large table, can you include me please.
Although I am pretty IT competent, I have only ever posted once before, so I hope this works!
BTW I have had a Girly for about 7 years
Great that your joining us Graham. I think a few will be there on Fri,so we'll arrange something for that day asswell. As for a rendezvous,I guess we'll sort something out nearer the date.
Hi Graham, welcome aboard! :icon_salut: John & I will be down there on Friday afternoon & are looking to meet up in Ty Morgan's bar around 6. Nothing planned as far as food for Friday as yet, but you're welcome to join us if you like! :thumbsup
Hi all. I've just spoken to the lamb and flag, the main bunkhouse sleeps 6. So I think that should be enough for us? They are prepared to hold the smaller one below, but only for a few days! So I'll leave it until Wednesday. So anyone wanting to join after, will just have hope it's still available,or make other arrangements.
Would you like me to book their function room for an evening meal on the Fri,Sat,or both?
Also, who intends getting there by lunchtime on Fri? We could have a rideout in the afternoon if you like?
My lunchtime is around 1pm :pimp and if you're planning to do the B4518, I will have just ridden that on the way there :icon_mrgreen:
but don't let that stop you :icon_biggrin:
plenty more to choose from :icon_wink:
I would definitely be up for a ride on Friday afternoon and think it a good idea to book the function room. It would be good to all eat together and maybe have the odd beer or two or three :icon_biggrin:

Hi Guys :wave I had this sent through for some trails around Rhayader from a contact in the TRF & wondered if they would be of any use?
The .MMO file can be opened in GPS visualizer http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ or the .KMZ file can be opened in Google earth.
I haven't scouted them myself as yet, but let me know what you think & if anyone would be willing to give them a go Friday afternoon or Sunday? :wheel
I have a friend who would like to join us, He rides a 2000 Tiger - a really nice, pleasant guy who doesn't talk bikes so much but prefers to just ride, he doesn't really have access to a PC so hence not joining the TT forum. He would be a camper so no accommodation arrangements needed, would there any objections?
None at all JD :thumbsup
