Bixxer has requested a new thread to record just the decisions, info and participation of the forthcoming trip to the Isle of Man (as suggested by the mighty Blacktiger)
This thread will be about details only whereas the 2021 survivors ride thread remains about trip banter, chit chat and whether or not covid is a new world order plan to change us into slaves of the Chinese.
Bixxer will no doubt police up comments in the wrong place so please don't be offended if stuff gets moved or edited
appropriately. He's doing a difficult job.
So the key questions are:
Do you wish to come?
What dates, if any are no good to you?
Can you help with the organisation and planning?
Some facts:
You will definitely be made very welcome if you have not come on a previous trip.
You can bring your other half if you want.
Drinking beer is optional, but if you like a pint there are few people who will show you the way to the pub.
Generally we ride as a group but there is nothing stopping you being involved as much or little as you wish.
Some riders are faster than others but there are no nutters. If, like me, you are more inclined to look at the scenery than look for the apexes we have a no-pressure, helpful system to ensure you won't get left behind or hold anyone up.
You can ride any type of bike you want on this trip. It is better if it is a tiger, but no one minds what you ride really.
Attending to date:

Mats-tiger1

And from the Wiltshire tigers group

any type of bike? any make?
With Bodger Johnson's proclamation yesterday setting us free to travel in the near future can we all sound off about dates we can make please?
To dodge Bixxer's race calendar and a few other commitments mentioned to me we are probably looking at:
The middle of June
The second half of August
All but the first week of September
With enough notice you can count me in for any of those dates. :thumbsup :occasion14
Straw poll by Whatsapp reveals a preference for 10-13th September as a starting point. Some may wish to stay longer of course.

:thumbsup I'll get my old maps out. Having been there and ridden a lot of them on an XR250R and then an XR600R, some are not for big bikes. :nap

It'll work up a good thirst anyway! :occasion14 :icon_biggrin:

Good man. The Millenium Way had been surfaced just before my last visit in 1997 and was quite easy. Others would be quite a struggle on a Tiger. We'd have to pick a chose carefully.
Right, so, these two hotels have good availability at the moment and are really close together so it wouldn't matter if we're split between the two. There are doubles for people like me who like a bit of quiet away from snorers and there are twins for others who........ :^_^

I have just booked the Welbeck Hotel using Booking.com Includes a massive breakfast and has free cancellation until September 8th. Get on it Chaps. You have nothing to lose. :thumbsup
Done some pruning. Just need to discover how to rename the duplicate topic :icon_rolleyes:
6 of us have booked sailing out on the 10th returning on the 15th.
Get involved!
Ferry and Welbeck booked
Trying to get the OK to join, as its very close to the Wedding anniversary.
Questions;
Where are we sailing from?, and when are we leaving the UK time wise? , as It may mean an extra night in Local hotel for ferry possibly
I've never been to IOM as road racing is not my thing, so what is the Ferry situation?, book in advance, or just turn up and get on the next available?
Im booked in, Seat 5 on the 11.15 Steam packet going out, making my own way back early on the Monday, booked in at the Wellbeck

11:15 ferry from Liverpool to Douglas on September 10th. No idea whether you could just turn up.
We're currently trying to work out an overnight Beer O'Clock in Liverpool the night before.

I'm working on a couple more that are not on the forum yet.
Top work H. I wonder if in the future we can get back to the glory days when we had 15-20 people on a trip.

And with more Tigers..................... :ImaPoser :rfl :*&* :mut
Was weighing up whether to bring mine. I have put the AT on the ferry documents but the old tig might make an appearance depending on its reliability this summer!
Right then chaps, we're going for the Ibis, Albert Docks for the 9th evening in Liverpool. It's a mile walk to the Historic pub called the Philharmonic. https://www.nicholsonspubs.co.uk/restaurants/northwest/thephilharmonicdiningroomsliverpool?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=gmb#
its interior is listed on the CAMRA register of Historic Pub Interiors and the whole thing is Grade1 listed.
Can't confirm but I think we might be 10 strong. Sin ate you sure this isn't for you dude? :occasion14

Hi all,it's been a while. Nice to see some normality returning here👍
Nick contacted me recently about the trip. Been a few developments in my life recently. Had to sell my Steamer😥 Gutted, but it was just too big for me to keep in the house I'm living in atm. Yes,I keep the bikes in the house!😁 Still got the Super3,and,I bought a CB500x! Good bike, but not a Steamer! I've also gone thru a separation,so my finances are a bit tight atm. But I'll keep an eye on developments, and see how things are closer to the date? Hope your all well, and hope to see you soon👍

I think I speak for us all in saying that we hope you manage to work it all out and join us. The SuperIII would be ideal on the Island circuit.

Sorry to read you're going through the mill mate, if anyone needs a break it's you, hope you manage to find a way to make it work. If not we'll just have to have another trip to South Wales ;)

Thanks ST. Are you sure you want to come to Wales again? Remember the last time?😉
It would just be good to see you and have a beer. Great if you can spare the time for the trip.
Just a quick mention, we have the mighty PeteH confirmed as coming along with us! :notworthy :thumbsup
Pete will be heading over to the IOM on Saturday's ferry, so will meet up with us somewhere en route. (Depends on the time his ferry docks) :icon_scratch:
He may be persuaded to head up the "Pool" on Thursday night to have a pint with us! :occasion14 We'll wait to see! :bad
