Oke, I'll start it off. For my 855i so far:
Installed battery bug
Two direct hookup fused accessory plugs (heavy gauge wire).
Turned eccentric to lower.
Ordered tank guards.
Whut Next?
weight lifting belt for all the times you are going to need to pick it up.

A camera to show how and what you have done :D

when you did the rear, you did the forks too, right ??
KK
didn't do forks, want to get a test as is to see if I like. will it steer horribly slow if I don't?
See how it feels, it is an 11yr old bike after all and the springs may have sagged a bit
KK
ps the seat is set to its lowest ?
Here we go. First, kickstand. With the rear axle eccentric flipped and front forks dropped 18mm, the kickstand is no longer at a good angle. Here's my bit on 'how to circumcise your stand'. First, pics of the flipped eccentric and lowered tripletree:
Remove stand (duh). Cut desired amount (for me, I did 1 inch).
Then, a test tack weld to make sure the 'foot' is still oriented properly. Mine wasn't.
Now the final welding. Since it's clean metal, I used an AC arc, and 125 - 130 amp gives good penetration. Any higher blows holes. Grind, sand, paint.
Bike now sits nicely:
Cut about 1" off of the hose at the top (after removing from airbox).
Use a standard automotive oil breather:
Now, I routed mine to near the fuel filter, since there is lots of airspace behind that panel. I also added a weather resistant K&N cover (used for cone filters), to keep it dry.
Then a simple cap for the air box connection.
Now I can happily tip my Tiger without risking hydrolock and associated damage.
Adjustable forks on a Girly??....Please tell :?:
My favorite mods are as follows:
2007 Roadie clutch perch w/Pazzo levers.
MSR brush-buster hand guards.
ROX 2" handlebar risers.
Remus Revolution exhaust.
dropped front forks 1/2 inch above trees.
15w fork oil at stock volume.
100% street sport/touring tires... No more dualsport rubber for me thanks.
5-way selectable heated.grips.
Soon to do mods:
Some form of fork brace to link the lower tubes.
tank guards
works rear shock
progressive front springs
The side stand mod scared me half to death, just take the plate off the bottom and trim to the desired length with no joints.
Best mod?? a 17" front wheel welcome to the 21st century
Trust me, that weld is the strongest part of the side stand now. If the stand breaks it'll be where the other Girly stands have broken...up at the pivot.

+1 on the stand mod Chris, then just reshape the hook. Made my foot twice the area while I was there, just in case.
So what's the 17" wheel mod? Haven't found that one yet.
Started wiith having 17" rim laced on the front and a 5 1/2" rim on the back so I could use a 180 on the rear.
And then went to Dymags, the wire Supermoto wheels are in Scotland!!
I guess I forgot to mention I'm a cheap bastige and the value of an 00 Tiger here in the states is about 3K US dollars. The Dynmag wheels are not even a possibility.
Now if there is a 17 from another model trumpet that fits, I'm all for visiting the breaker and getting one :).
Eric (cheap bastige).
Come to that my 955 has zero value as well, but dieing rich has never been on the agenda, and after 10 years of my own R+D(I've had the bike from new)) I took great delight in riding a 1200 Multistrada and finding out it was only marginally better.
As for another wheel fitting maybe, the internet got me out of hole when I was doing the 17" conversion maybe it will you too,
Oh you can't buy Dymags anyway they went bust
But this Tiger of mine is the only bike I've ever had that will change direction mid corner two up fully load with my boot scrapping on the ground, which made the time and effort(there was lots) worth the effort, and the R+D still goes on.
Quote from: "metalguru"Adjustable forks on a Girly??....Please tell :?:
caps from a sprint, you have to cut down the spring spacer just a bit. There is also a washer that sits under the cap you get as well.... only will do preload, not adjust damping.
Are my adjustable forks not stock? Mine has both preload and damping (well I think it has damping, the brass bolt in the center of the preload adjuster?
How about my adjustable levers? was that stock? so much I don't know!

I can relate Chris, but my Kettles are my money sinks. The cafe style one in my welcome pic has honda CBR front end and swingarm, wheels, brakes, vfr clipons, custom chambers, accent electronic ignition, etc. Never be worth my time and dollars invested, but I love it! For this 855 I want to build reliable and economical, its to be my commuter and long distance tourer. My FJR1300 was a wonderful machine but lousy in mud and snow :).

Wish I knew everything that he did :(. He's a tiger 'nut' (according to dealer salesperson who says he knows him) and also has an 955 and just bought a new (i think 1050) which is why he sold this one.
Sure wish he hadn't had mayer do the seat, sits way too high for me, but I'm only 5'10.
talking to myself, is that a bad sign? Just saw that previous owner is the lists own Walker, who updated my welcome message with all the details on the bike.
01 Girly
If I had to replace the bike, this is the list that I have done to mine that I would do again without even riding the bike first.

You got a pointer to a how to on the cruise? I put a electronic cruise control on my FJR1300, was wonderful. Audiovox unit. I still have the unit so that's a good one to do.

Did not do a photo shoot while installing it. Dad and I both put them on our Tigers. Had to get a bit creative, but works great. We used the one that is all electric, no vacuum canisters.
