Title: Roaming the Harz mountains (Germany) with Tigger
Post by: MtheTiger on August 29, 2011, 01:56:04 PM
Been a week to Germany to ride the Harz mountains with Tigger.
Great scenery and not to forget the excellent roads and food.
We had warm weather with the occasional downpoor, mostly @ night.
Tigger performed without a glitch considering the horror she went through before (see the "Horror...the Horror" post in Steamers).

No foto's yet but I have a short video for ya.
Tigger has BOS exhausts fitted.

And here are some pics....

The Harz is part of the old GDR ("German Democratic Republic" => in reality behind the iron curtain or the wall until 1989) so lots of nice old and beautiful restored villages (with help from West Germany that is), steamtrains, very good beer, very very good roads and few speed limits. We had great weather except for one afternoon ...thunder & hailstorms....see pics. As you can see I have a manual scottoiler 8)
DB stands for "Deutsche Bundesbahn" or the German Railways.

Good pics, I recognise Stolberg, stopped there a couple of times. The place is virtually crime free. You can leave your keys in the bike with your helmet and jacket on the seat and no one will touch them.
And typical of Germany, the food is good(as long as you really like pork), but the beer is better.
