Title: Jetting?
Post by: theclowncrusty on September 07, 2011, 03:56:30 PM
Hi guys, i have just aquired these off E-bay.....

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330610059582? ... 1423.l2649 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330610059582?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)

Would they be a straight fit to the bike? I dont want to fit them if i have to re-jet the carbs as well. I dont mind doing that in the future but when i have more time and money to get it sorted, (also what info is available about re-jetting the steamer and is it worth the time and trouble?)
Also could someone post a link to the different dash bulbs? I want to replace them all with LED ones?
Thanx in advance for any replies.......
Mark

A few on here have fitted those, no jetting required.
Although you might have to open up the link pipes a little to get a better fit.
I think Neild fitted some, search his posts and you`ll see what needs doing.

You can replace all the bulbs on the bike with LED's except:
- Headlights (of course)
- Dash fuel warning light (cause this will not work properly with a LED)

See the sticky "Let there be light"

Hi, thanks for the replies. Could someone please confirm the bulb type? i have found Mustangs bulb thread before but when i put "T6.5" in the search box in E-bay i get loads of hits but none of them are auto bulbs? Also are the bulbs all the same for the idiots lights, side lights and the tacho  and speedo?

Thanx rybes, is it one or two bulbs in the tail light? Did you get the red or the white ones?

For the idiot lights you need T6,5 LED's...like these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-24- ... 2eb78c2ed5 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-24-T6-5-Instrument-Panel-3-LED-Bulbs-Blue-White-/200647913173?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb78c2ed5)

My link for the T10's still works....see there will be light thread.

When replacing bigger bulbs with LED's ALWAYS choose the same colour LED as the glass. So, for the tail light you take RED. To be exact you need dual contact bulbs: 1157 Dual Contact BA15 High Power 3 & 4 Watt LED Automotive Bulbs...

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... -turn.html (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Ftail-brake-turn.html)

For the indicators you need the 1156 type in amber.

Fro my taillight I chose anaother option though:
I've replaced my whole taillight for an aftermarker LED one...much better output:
