Title: LED H4 Bulbs
Post by: HockleyBoy on January 25, 2012, 02:53:56 PM
Have noticed on tinternet and ebay in particular H4 LED headlight bulbs and wondered if anyone had tried them in their Tiger (or any other vehicle) and if so are they any good?

Always looking for a way to put some more light in front of the Tiger, especially at this time of year!

Dunno about LED H4. Never seen them before and, looking at them http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... Categories (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p3872.m570.l1311&_nkw=led+h4&_sacat=See-All-Categories) , they seem to be cobbled together. Seems to be a contradiction.

How about these which philips have just brought out? http://www.philips.co.uk/c/car-lamps/x- ... 2xvb1/prd/ (http://www.philips.co.uk/c/car-lamps/x-tremevision-h4-12-v-55-w-12342xvb1/prd/) at least you know these are going to work.

I may give these a try, good write ups elsewhere.

The headlight reflector is designed for a near point source. Most of the LEDS I've seen are like a matrix arrangement which is unlikely to ficus well.

Having said that. I have them as reversing lights in my car and they're superb. I can actually see where I'm going backwards now.

Will these plug into the Steamer headlight socket?

Been useing these for about 3yrs in Triumphs, with the charging circuit mod and had no trouble at all and ride every day all weathers.
Have been using 100w and 150/90 in other bikes for years, not many street lamps round my way!!
