Bought an eBay rack I'm sure it's the right one. But the grab arms miss the frame mounts by 2" is there a plate i need to connect frame to grab handles, the rack is cast Ali ?
Sounds like a Givi rack (a photo would help) in which case the rack comes with a bike-specific fitting kit when new. Others will be along to advise whether the kit is still available
You could start here althoug at a quick look I can't see it.

Its the standard cast ally Steamer rack i think?
Not sure about fitting kit as both mine had the steel round bar ones.

Yep that's the one we have the technology to fettle something up just checking for easy solutions:-)
which holes arent lining up? should just bolt to the frame in the holes in front of the exhaust mount... 'think' they used the same (or similar looking!?) rack on other age bikes.. is there a part number cast on it anywhere... ?
if its the big cast ally one, the front mountin has a small plate that goes from it to the frame. if you look on the inside where it mounts. you should see a lil lug. that locks the small plate in place.
