I'm new to the triple thing and was wondering what kind of issues I might want to look out for.
I've found an '02 with ~19,000 miles on her, minor rash on the tank and fairing.
PS. Hi everyone.
it's in the sticky thread ...............it'll answer most of your questions
but here is the what to look for thread

cool. Thanks.
I know the electrical/charging issue has been sorted.
Has the SW-Motech center stand.
I'm not sure about the fuel line fittings though.
I'll need crash bars and maybe a skid plate though.
The big problem is that I am buying based on seller descriptions and pictures. The bike is 1000 miles away, and I'm hoping to do a fly and ride.
19k is like new! If the price is right, go for it! :D
it has some very minor scuffs on one side, but for less than $4k US, it looks pretty good.
I go pick her up next Wednesday!

Gonna bring her home through Yosemite.
Can't get the pic to work. She's a Black Beauty though :(
Shes beautiful! Enjoy.

I got one just like her. They're really great bikes.
On a plane to go pick her up!
Planes suck. Especially small, packed ones.

Flying to the outer isles in Scotland is an experience. They use a little five-seater. In the terminal, the pilot (no other crew involved) puts each passenger on a set of bathroom scales with their suitcase. He adds them all up and if we're overweight, someone, or someone's bags have to wait till the next flight. If the wind is blowing in the right direction, he doesn't bother with the runway and simply takes off on the taxiway on the way out. It's the nearest I've ever come to a flying taxi

That actually sounds fun

Benbecula is much the same but I was actually on about Unst.
Sorry for the hijack
Flying into one of otter Isles in the 70's, forget which one but never forgot the experience, I thought the pilot was coming in too hot and we did go round for a second approach to land. When he saw the look on my face, I was right next to him, he says " don't worry I was just checking the tide was far enough out and scarring the sheep off the runway"
400 miles today. I love this bike! The seat needs some work though. 600 tomorrow to get her home. :)
Congratulations on the re-biking project, Ben! 8)
The Girly is a fun machine to ride.
that sure is a nice shiny beast Ripe for some farkling 8)
enjoy :D
The crash bars were delivered tuesday. Trying to decide if the factory seat is as bad as I think or if two years without riding had a softening effect on my butt. Did 500 hundred miles today. It was better than yesterday though. Lol

Nice, that's a brochure pic though surely, must be some muck on it by now, did you forget your camera
It you can find and original Triumph gel seat go for it. Found one for my '99 and I love it. More room to move around but watch where you park it on a hot day!

A thinker :D ,we've done a 1000 miles in a day on our Tiger, but we had been on the road for two weeks when we did it we were race fit so to speak, when we went to Mugello the other week we knew it would be tough because we hadn't done any warm up trips this year before hand, the seat has nothing to do with it.
Re the factory gel seat, one of the 21st centuries great horrors, great for riding round the block on,long distance an absolute nightmare.
Beg to differ on gel seats Chris, maybe it depends on the bike or the bum. I did 3000 kicks over a weekend on my Striple with a factory gel seat and was very happy with it, just before I sold her I gave a mate the gel seat and felt the difference alright  .
Having said that, definitely don't leave it uncovered in the blazing sun
Lucky for me I have a reference point my wife!! without prompting 'What do you think' yea me too I reply :( ,from taking notice of the tosh on the net  to buying e'm a 3000 trip and selling e'm back on ebay took all of 4 weeks, but hey you live and learn.
Anyone thinking of trying one,not a problem there's still a reasonable market on ebay,so with luck you should be able to unload e'm without too much of a loss.
For those thinking about them, the first few miles(100/150) were pretty dam good in fact very good, but as the day wore on they were like sitting on a park bench, almost as if they had set solid,I'm cringing even thinking about it,If folk decide to buy just don't pay over the odds,it's not an expensive experiment then.
As for leaving them in the sun  :D

Here she is when we first met.
