Title: Bad Stealer In Belgium
Post by: metalguru on September 04, 2012, 04:05:14 AM
When I went to see some mates a few weeks ago in Belgium, looked at the back tyre (PR3) as I was extolling it's virtues to my mate when there glistening in the sun was yet another nail, these PR3s seem to like nails.
So had a beer and removed the rear wheel and took it to the nearest tyre repair place which happen to be a new Triumph dealer in Geel. Ok man said no problem have it fixed this PM. So we went off (car bound) and drank more beer and went back late afternoon to find he had only just got round to fixing it, the workshop was not at all busy.
Got the wheel back to mates house and bike where I discovered the dealer had used the temporary dog poo strips to repair the hole. As all should know these are a get you home temporary fix and illegal for dealers to use. I could have done that repair in 30 mins instead of half a day the dealer took then charged E10 for the privilidge. Of course he denighed all knowledge when we went back next day as it was a cash job, and he reckoned his repair was the proper one I had fitted last month in UK on my last puncture. A few guys will remember the episode in Stoke!!
Also while there my mate said his Daytona 955 had just been there for a big service, so hooking up TuneEcu found the TPS shot and the bike was running real bad, so borrowed some vacuum guages and set the Throttle bodies which were miles out and not been touched for ages. Made us wonder what else this guy did not do.

One to stay clear of if in east Belgium, they have not been open long and they are in Geel.

Yes Marc of course, the more people know the better. If these dealers want to charge top rate for the work, then one would at least expect the work to be carried out, and if it is then to the high standard expected.

What do you mean, you could have repaired it in 30 mins, would that be with or without your broken tool? :thumbsup

Bought a new kit with a tool that looks stronger than the last!!
It's the brown dog poo kit, and the same that the stealer used to repair my puncture. It worked better than the aerosol types.
