Title: TOR or Standard
Post by: gilly527 on September 19, 2012, 01:33:49 AM
Hopefully this will be a super easy question for you guys!

How do I know if my bike has the TOR pipe or the Standard pipe installed on it?! I've tried looking up the part number on it (2200246) to find out and that got me pretty much no where.

If it isn't the TOR pipe then I'm probably going to get a Blue Flame exhaust and see how that goes and remap it with the TOR fuel map.

Start the bike up at 6 in the morning and rev it up!! next door will be out quick enough if it's a TOR,if you need to ask, you've got a standard can on.

the part number on it (2200246)
worldoftriumph.com says:
EXHAUST, SILENCER + BRKT ASSY
Triumph Motorcycles Description: EXHAUST, SILENCER + BRKT ASSY Triumph Motorcycle Part Number: T2200246

On my 2003 I've got  2200252  on it, according to worldoftriumph.com:
SILENCER ASSY. EXHAUST
Triumph Motorcycle Description: SILENCER ASSY. EXHAUST - Triumph Motorcycle Part Number: T2200252 - Will fit the following models: TIGER 2002,TIGER 2003,TIGER 2004,TIGER 2005,TIGER 2006

On the other hand, the parts locator of worldof triumph gives for the 955i only one part nr.      PFKL1206772

Ok, so all in all, it seems like I have a Standard can! Bollocks... that sucks!

I think I may upgrade to a Blue Flame then... or for that matter anything that is like/as good as the TOR can for as cheap as possible!

I have looked at the "How-to" section on turning the standard can into the TOR can, but it really sounds kinda sketchy/"might mess up the whole can easily" deal.

How could you mess one up!!,they have got to be the worsed made can I have ever seen bar non, stand back from the bike and look down the side of the can, you'll even see the crease on the outside from the baffle thats welded on the inside,an absolute disgrace I've never seen a good one,it's the reason I sold my TOR and probably why Triumph stopped having them made by the muppets in Walsall, but of course they will argue it was Triumph spec.

Plenty of secondhand cans on ebay.
