Sounds about right to me. I only get that when I ride like a gentleman. Unfortunately the tigger is not really suited for gentlemen, so I get 140 - 150 at best and your figures when I'm dragging the missus about on her 125.
My silly b*gger light comes on way early. Generally it's a good indicator that I have at least half a tank left.

Har! I'm just figuring mine out too. Ran myself out of gas about 20km from the nearest gas station! had to lean her over about 4 times to drain every drop into the carbs. managed to make it to a campsite where I was able to beg a couple of litres from the caretaker. I wont make that mistake again!! :thumbsup

I've read through this thread, and I'm having some difficulty believing what I'm seeing. The fuel warning light goes on on my '98 Steamer at 150 miles; but if I stop and refuel at that point, the tank still has ~2.5 US gallons in it. I've never had to go to reserve, as I generally stop for fuel before I get to 200 miles. My most recent trip (all pavement, about 650 miles of mixed highway and twisties) was last weekend, and I filled the tank four times.

What am I missing?

:5huh

well spotted foothills. its my light that comes on at 150 too. very rarely let it run into the reserve so i just presumed thats what everyone else done. i really must learn to slow down and read things properly.
so as far as how many miles i get till then i have no idea.

I could be wrong?? You covered 650 mls,filled up 4 times,got about 2.5 galls still in tank? So 4 x 3galls = 12.  12 into 650 = 54 mpg??  (or there or there abouts?)

I get 9 miles per litre, so that is about 200miles to reserve, and 225 if she runs dry.
