Title: Coolant overflow
Post by: speedfin on June 09, 2013, 08:57:09 PM
If I fill the coolant reservoir up to just half full or so - a bit above the min mark I get a fairly massive blow out of fluid from the vent pipe if I let the engine get hot enough for the  radiator fan to kick in.

No probs if I just leave the reservoir about 3/4 empty but I can't believe that's how it should be yet I can't see what is causing this to happen.

Thanks Chris, that sounds good except for the bit about 'stripping the bike'

You have to take the tank off to get at the cap properly.

Blimey all of 10 minutes, the hassle for me?? taking the Bagster tank over off, oh and getting the tools out.

That's what you get with the tank off,it isn't rocket science even if you think it is.
