Bike tipped over. Gear shifter bent. Won't shift into neutral, so can't start bike.
With bent shifter do I have to worry about any internal working being damaged?
I'm worried about damaging anything further....
Can I just bend the gear shifter back, or could that damage something else?
Can you take it off the bike before trying to straighten it?
Wont start?
Damage to the side stand switch(it's pretty close to a bent part)
Damage to the clutch lever switch?

Yes, I'll take it off, then I can get a better look.
The embarrassing thing is I was washing mud off it, and touched the rear wheel, which moved and the bike tipped!
I guess I won't be washing it too often!
It's bent - I'd like to get an aftermarket shifter BEFORE I start trying to straighten it. Any recommends, or any idea if this lever is the same as a shifter from (for example) a DR650?

Thanks for that:
But... that's an 885 - so just to double check - this will fit on a 955?
It will, replaced mine on my previous Girly after a drop.
Thanks - exactly what I needed to here. :thumbsup
Get a folding shifter lever!
