Title: Carb swop.
Post by: tankerman on May 26, 2017, 03:06:29 PM
Hi, finally starting to work on a much neglected 96 Tiger I bought some while ago. Just wondering if the Mikuni carbs fitted can be changed for the Keihin carbs without a lot of faffing about. Bear in mind the bike came with individual cone filters so air filter need not be a problem. (Although I have sourced a standard setup from a certain attic, amongst other bits!)

Yep, easy swap, just need to get the correct airbox to carb rubbers, as the profile is different to the Mikuni.
Somebody has a potential set of Keihins for sale......(hint, me..)

I believe it has been done before.

I did it several years ago. I believe you would need the Keihin throttle cable too.
