Got back from a 1000 mile trip last weekend and couldn't keep the chain on my 99 adjusted. Not sure how i made it home actually. Ordered new sprockets from Sprocket Specialists (who were awesome to deal with) and got a chain locally. I stayed with a 18t front and went down to a 43t rear from the 45t that was on there. Sprockets came yesterday and got it all back together and much better on the freeway. Dropped about 500-600 rpms. Although I'd like to have a chat with the last person who put a new front sprocket and chain on this bike. The chain had a spring clip link and when I bent the lock tabs back on the front sprocket and put my 36mm on the nut it spun off with hand pressure. Im strong but not that strong. :wink:

Mine did the same. It came from the factory like that. Not so good but has not damaged anything.
I called Sprocket Specialists last week for my '96 and they said they'd need me to ship them my old sprockets so they could find ones that would fit or make some - are they the same :?: :?: :?:

95-03 take the same sprockets 2693 rear and 598 front. I'm sure someone on this site could confirm that. Good luck.
